The wolf sleepily stirs, eyes peeking open to the bright white of the atmosphere, flooding in through the windows of the car.

Her head tilts up just a little, before her forehead gently nudges a warm chin. She blinks a few times, rubbing her eyes before looking once again, realising it was only her male, his arms wrapped around her softly.

Mekhi gives her a soft grin, teal hues a little dull and not as intense as they normally were. His features are stoic, but not in the thoughtful and brooding way it normally was in,  merely resting. Brows aren't furrowed, and his attention turns back to the scope of the foreign lands they were roaming in, beast taking each inch in carefully.

She sighs, planting her cheek back down onto his firm chest, eyes closing against the rhythm of the rise and fall of his chest, the steady beat of his heart soothing.

It wasn't even noon, yet it felt like the day had already stretched for eons. They had left well before dawn broke through, just in the last cusp of the night's roam. After a six-hour flight, they had descended their journey upon car, heading towards the border of the Kingdom.

Alonso had no doubt been notified the moment their plane landed, but it's not like the male would do anything.

Not when it was Mekhi.

He lets his chin rest on the top of her head, the pressure almost making her wolf mewl but she manages to catch herself. Her cheeks flame regardless, cosy in his grip and in the material of her black hoodie.

After a few more moments of getting used to being present in the world again, she sighs, adjusting so she can sit up, her arms draped loosely around his neck. Inked fingers dig a little deeper into the flesh of her thighs.

Her eyes scoot to the front, where both Micah and Alden sat. Alden is too distracted with his headphones, and Micah's eyes are on the road, veins dark with the grip on the steering wheel.

Small hands lay flat across the sides of his cheek.

"Are you okay?" her voice and tone is low, and soft, fingers curiously moving a few dark locks away from his forehead.

"I should be asking you," word drip like honey. The wolf gives him a smile, before thinking for a few seconds. She shrugs.

"I just want some answers. I've had too many questions since knowing that my mother was a human, that-that I'm not even a full wolf," she mumbles, thinking back to when that revelation occurred, a few days back.

"I'll get you answers. I promise," nothing but the truth brims in his eyes. She tilts her head.

"In a nice way? Right?" his lips only curve devishly, telling her otherwise. She rolls her eyes, telling him not to be mean, and pressing a kiss to his temple.

Attention turns back to beyond the glass pane of the window, falling onto the thick layer of snow that had settled on the ground, beginning to accumulate onto the trunks. It painted everything white. Even the skies had no glorious blue, fluffy clouds taking place of the realm instead, like a hard and heavy blanket. Any sunlight that managed to penetrate through had no tone of yellow, just bright and giving no warmth.

The Wolf Kingdom was always in the cold, always stuck with winter.

Paths had been empty, almost deserted when they had first left the airport. Instead, now they were slowly beginning to brim with life again. They weren't wolves just yet, a few measly humans walking about in huddled thick clothing.
