"Milo! Get back here silly goose!" A small beagle runs through the meadow, followed by a short girl. Her hair flowed in the slight breeze, accompanied by an out-of-breath giggle.
"Silly little puppy. You can't keep running away. I know you like the meadow but it's not safe for you." The short girl laughed as she watched her puppy flop down in exhaustion. She sat down beside him and rubbed his chubby belly. As she looked up, she realized she didn't recognize where she was.
"Uh oh, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Milo." The girl giggled at her joke as she looked around for any landmarks to help her recognize the area.
"Ooooh, Horsey!" She stood back on her feet, picked Milo up, and ran over to the gated area where the horse resided.
"Hi, there horsey." The short girl barely made it to the tip of his nose, so she carefully climbed to the second rung on the fence. She still had Milo in her hand so it was a tough feat but she made it. She patted the horse's nose as he neighed. She giggled as the horse tickled her hand.
"Zo'n lief paard" She cooed at the horse as he rested his head in her hand. 'Such a sweet horse'
"Who are you?" A gruff voice called from behind her.
"Wha-oh. Oh, I'm Danaë!" The girl quickly climbed down the fence and stuck her empty hand out. She looked up only to be met with a large man standing in front of her.
AN: Hey guys, here is the first chapter. I know it is short, but I wanted to make it a little introduction to the story. This story was in the 3rd person, but the rest will have the 1st person point of view. The language I used is Dutch and I will continue to use it with translations. Keep in mind that Danaë and her mother immigrated from the Netherlands so they will use Dutch often and her mom will use it more often as she is older and has learned less English.
All my love, Aresius
