BLURRED POV
I opened my eyes. I was laying on the floor in the middle of Tyler's room. I smiled. It worked! We switched. I was in control of his worthless body now. And Tyler...Tyler was asleep.
I stood up and turned around. The mirror. It was right there. I was not satisfied with Tyler's clothing choices. It was way too bright. And also his body. He had so much fat on his body. Disgusting. But I decided to fix that later on. I looked around his room. I was getting annoyed. But then, I saw it. His dresser. I opened the first drawer. No clothes there. I frowned. I opened the second drawer and...there it was. Tyler's clothes. I started searching through the drawer, throwing some of his clothes on the floor in the process carelessly. Finally, I found what I was looking for. I changed into the clothes I found and looked in the mirror with a smile on my face. Red eyes, red socks, black hoodie and black jeans. And of course. Red beanie.
Though I didn't like Tyler's voice at all, I knew it was crucial that I sound exactly like him. After a good hour of trying to imitate Tyler's pathetic baby voice, I learned to imitate him to a point where it was unrecognizible. I was impressed by my own skills.
But, I still needed to do something about my eyes, otherwise everyone would know. My eyes were glowing with red but I needed to push Tyler's brown eyes from the back of his head to the front. So I tried to do so. I tried to push my irises to the back of my head. The forced movement caused my eyes to hurt quite a lot, but I was used to a pain so much worse, this was like a pat on the back to me. In fact, one part of me enjoyed that it hurt. After a few failed attempts, brown irises finally appeared in my eyes. I looked at myself proudly. I did it! The most difficult part is behind me. Just one last thing had to be done. I went into Tyler's bathroom and washed the black paint off of my hands and neck. It didn't go down all the way, since, well, its a part of who I am, but it definitely wasn't nearly as visible as before.
My transformation was complete. Finally, it was time for me to leave the house.
I pulled a hood over my head, because Tyler was a celebrity in his neighborhood and, well, I didn't want attention. Not right now, at least. I left the house and made my way through the city. Luckily for me, it was really late at night, so the streets were completely empty. My only witnesses were lights on the sidewalk and the only living thing I could hear were a few dogs barking in the distance.
After a while, rain started to pour from the sky, and all my clothes got soaked. I didn't exactly mind that I was cold. Water doesn't hurt when it hits your skin, even if it's freezing.
Another hour passed before I made it to my final destination. I was standing on a sidewalk, in front of a big, old house. No light was coming from the windows, so the person inside was either long asleep, or gone. I hoped for the first option to be the case.
I made my way to the front door. There was a light that, I guessed, was supposed to turn on if someone was by the entrance, but it was obviously broken.
I reached out for the doorbell and pressed the only button there was.
I shoved my hands back into the pockets of my hoodie and waited.
After my third try at ringing the door bell, finally I could see a light being switched on in one of the upper rooms and hear someone's slow steps making their way down the stairs...Josh's POV
I woke up to some strange sound. I frowned a little but didn't open my eyes. It was probably just in my head. I brought my blanket closer to my chin and exhaled, slowly falling back asleep.
But then I heard something again. And it wasn't just something. It was my doorbell. I frowned again. I opened my eyes and looked at my phone.
It was almost 3 in the morning. What kind of freak goes up to peoples's houses and rings their doorbell at 3 in the morning?! I decided that whatever that person in front of my door wanted, it probably wasn't anything important. Well, definitely not more important than my sleep.
I closed my eyes again and hoped that whoever was in front of my house would just give up and leave.
But of course, that's not what happened.
After a few minutes, I could hear the doorbell ringing again. I let out an annoyed growl. That creep outside was clearly not giving up and wasn't going anywhere unless I tell him to. I reached out for the lamp on my nightstand and turned it on, the light nearly blinding me. I slowly stood up, immediately missing the warmth of my bed. I put my bathrobe on and looked in the mirror. Unsurprisingly, I looked dead. And my hair was a mess. I tried to fix it by ruffling it with my hands but it didn't really help, in fact, I think I made it worse, so I gave up. I went downstairs. I was still half asleep when I reached for the door knob of the main entrance. Little did I know that what I'd see next would wake me up real fast.
"Tyler?!", I let out a surprised breath. It was him. I stared at my best friend with eyes wide open. He was wearing all black except his beanie. His clothes were dripping wet, and he had dark circles under his eyes.
He had this look on his face that just told me that something was wrong.
"Josh,", he sobbed quietly "I'm sorry for waking you up, but I just...I didn't know where else to go." his voice broke at the end. He was on the verge of tears.
My look softened immediately. Then I realized that he was still standing in the rain. Good job, me!
"Oh, I'm sorry! Come in, Tyler! Now!" I said as I opened the door for him and stepped aside. He entered into my living room and looked around as if it was the first time he'd seen it. But it wasn't. Just a week ago, we had a sleepover at my house. I decided that I was overthinking too much and noticed he was leaving little puddles of water behind.
"Please, Tyler, take a seat on the couch over there. I'm gonna make you some tea. Oh, and I'll bring you a blanket!" I stuttered as I was still processing what just happened. "Do you want to borrow my clothes?" I asked. He turned to me suddenly, and stared at me for a while as if in deep thought.
"N-no, thanks. I don't like your clothes.", he answered.
I was a little confused by this. Obviously, I was offering him my clothes cuz his were soaked in water. But I guess he didn't want to change into anything.
"Oh. Okay. That's...cool." I said. After some awkward silence, I remembered.
"The tea! Sorry, I'm gonna go make it right now. Please sit down by the fireplace. I'll be right back!" I said and turned around to go to the kitchen.
I made some tea and returned to the living room grabbing a blanket on the way. Tyler was already sitting on the couch. I laid the blanket on Tyler's back and he pulled it over his body tightly. Then I placed a cup of tea on the table in front of him. He muttered a small "Thanks" and I just nodded in response. I sat on the couch on the other side of the table so that I was facing him. He was just staring on the cup in front of him. His mind seemed to be somewhere else.
"So, Tyler. What happened? Please, tell me.", I begged.
While hearing my voice, he snapped his head up in surprise. As if he completely forgot that I was here.
I was seriously worried about him. He acted like this whenever something terrible happened. This wasn't a good sign...
"I...just...I had a really bad night. I didn't know how to deal with it. And you were the only person I thought I could go to. I'm sorry.." he said as tears spilled from his eyes.
I got up and immediately sat next to him, embracing him for comfort. He started to cry into my shoulder. I hated to see him like this. It made my eyes teary as well. I began to whisper comforting things to calm him down.
"Tyler, don't apologize. I'm glad you came here. At least I can help you somehow. I wouldnt want you to be alone right now. Whatever you struggle with, we will solve it together, as always. I promise." I said softly. I continued to talk to him like this and after a while, his crying turned into a soft sobbing.
He looked like he was gonna fall asleep at any minute. I felt so sorry for him. He looked exhausted.
"You will sleep in my bed tonight. I will take the couch. I'm not letting you go anywhere when you feel like this." I said with a stern tone, implying that I wasn't going to argue with him on this. He looked at me, in awe.
"Josh, why are you so nice to me? I don't deserve you." he sobbed.
"Tyler, we're best friends. Of course i'm not gonna kick you out on the street!" I chuckled "Now, come on. I'm gonna take you to my room." I said and stood up. We went up the stairs but he kept falling over, which made me worried. He must have been really exhausted. So I ended up carrying him in my arms. It wasn't like we've never carried each other before. We reached my room and I laid him on my bed, covering him with my blanket. His eyes were closed, so i assumed he was asleep. I left the room quietly and turned the lights off. I was about to close the door, when he spoke, startling me a little.
"Josh?" he spoke quietly.
"Yes, Tyler?" I looked at him, worried.
"Just...thank you. For everything."
I smiled at him fondly and nodded.
"Good night, Ty." I said.As I was closing the door, I heard him nearly whispering:
"Good night, Josh."
BLURRED POV
And so I was laying in Josh's warm bed, covered by a blanket and with a huge grin plastered on my face.
I couldn't believe he didn't notice anything. I was such a good actor! And Josh was such a fool. But a fool with a nice body, I had to admit. I could tell, especially when he was carrying me.
I licked my lips. Tommorrow is going to be fun.
Very fun.
But right now, I was going to sleep. I was tired. I did a whole lot of hard work in these few hours. I was proud of myself.
I knew that going to sleep was a risk, cuz Tyler could wake up instead of me, but I was confident I was strong enough to not let him take over the body.
With that thought in my mind, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face....
So, here we have chapter one. Things are in motion, we're only starting and the glass is thin...
someone wants to break in...Stay tuned for more! Also don't forget to comment, I really aprecciate feedback.<3
