friday hadn't been eventful at all and april had found it very boring, especially when her best friend was either driving, in meetings or doing some things with jon. it was only when they were doing a few interviews that they had seen one another, but they'd both rather have that time than none at all.

the sun was just about setting over the circuit, the once blue sky was now had a colour of pastel purple and a hint of baby pink mixed through it as the time edged on six thirty. majority of the mclaren team had left for the hotel, desperate to get some sleep before the busy day ahead, but leaving didn't apply to april and the couple of mechanics who were tidying everything up. the twenty-two year old wanted to finish all of her duties off before she even thought about going to her room.

so there she was, sat at one of the tables upstairs with her macbook in front of her, her glasses now making an appearance as she would end up getting a headache if she went any longer without them on. she was unaware of the young driver who had made his way up the stairs, as she was facing the opposite way, and he was wondering why she was still here.

"what're you doing?" lando's voice startled her completely, april's body jumping as she placed her hand on her chest.

"you shit head, why'd you do that?" april huffed, still in shock that he was there, her going back to doing her work when her heartbeat had gone back to normal.

laughing at her reaction, he walked over to where she was sitting before sitting in the chair next to her, their knees touching but neither of them making an effort to move them. "perfect opportunity, nkw answer my question."

"i'm finishing my work because it needs to be done." april told him, using her thumb to rub the end of her nose.

"does it need to be done?" lando tilted his head, challenging the girl as he knew that she never had a strict deadline on her independent work.

"no but i feel good if it's over and done with because then i can spend my night with a glass of wine, probably watching the kardashians." she told him with a smile, switching her gaze from the bright laptop screen to his face.

"wouldn't you rather rewatch sex education instead of the kardashians?" the driver asked her, referring the many nights they would spend at each other's homes watching the netflix show.

"lando, we've watched every single episode multiple times." april tried to prover her point, however only failing in the process.

"and you haven't for the kardashians?" lando smirked, resting his hand in his palm, his gaze set on her face that now held a small smile.
