Chapter 8

That night I dreamt of the reason why mom finally decided to leave our home for good and visit my aunt for a while.

This was our first time in years going out as a family to a fancy restaurant for my birthday. My birthday has always been a bit gloomy for me unless I go out with my mom or my two friends decided to drag me somewhere special to hang out. Since my birthday was in december like my bias wrecker, Jin (WWH) from BTS, I decided to dress up and look pretty for my special day.  My mom also decided to dress to impress but not over doing it to take me out of the spot light. She wore light makeup and a fitted dress, which my dad was not a fan of.  When we walk out of our rooms to approach the stairs to go down to the living room, mom stopped to take a breath. I could tell she was nervous, so I took her hands in mine, send her a reassuring smile and pulled her with me down the stairs.

When my dad saw us, he grinned and the relief that was on my mom's face when he pulled her into a hug was unmistakeable. "You look stunning tonight," he said. He kissed her and spun her around before setting her onto the ground.

He turned towards me smiling brightly and I couldn't help but return the same smile. " Happy birthday, Rosa. You look beautiful today and finally you are eighteen." He took us to the restaurant pulling both of our seats before telling us to order what we wanted. After we ate , he started to ask me about school and told me how proud he was of my achievements so far. We continued talking for a while even including my mom in most of the conversations. He proceeded to tell us he is planning to take us to a trip during the summer, once I am let of from school. Although he made many promises and never kept them, I believed him this time.

He called the waiter to ask for the check. When the waiter came back with the check, he asked us how was our meal but his eyes was on my mom. My mom tried to be polite, answering back but not keeping his gaze for long. My dad didn't like the fact that she replied and his facial expressions started to morph into one of anger.  As the waiter left, he turned to her with a narrowed gaze . " We are here celebrating our daughter's birthday and you find it fitting to flirt with another man in my presence."  She did not answer him knowing that if she did it will only made his anger worst. " Admit it, you know him from somewhere and I won' t be surprised if you slept with him before."  I flinched at his voice and decided to go into the car. My mom got up after me and decided to follow me into the car. Before she left though she said to him," You know I would never cheat on you and I will never stoop so low to do that especially as you've been doing it to me for years. I usually would let you have the last word but do not ever degrade me infront of my daughter." With that she left the restaurant and went to the car. A few minutes later, my dad entered the car and started to speed towards our house. " Slow down before you get us killed ," my mom screamed as she hold onto the door handle with dear life. My dad will purposely speed up and slow down causing the car to jerk forward and back to see if he can get a rise from my mom . When we arrived home, he grabbed my mom by her neck and started to squeeze it. He told me to go to my room when he saw I was approaching them. I was hesitant because I wanted to help my mom but at the same time I wanted to avoid getting hit. Seeing my hesitance,   he slapped me hard across my faced and pushed me  towards my room. After that I sat down on my bed crying as I heard my mom screaming throughout the night. I know this time it was bad as the beatings lasted longer than her usual ones. I fell asleep eventually, but not before promising myself to check on my mom in the morning.

The next morning I got up very early to check on my mom. I knew at this time my dad had already left for work, so I made my mom some tea and placed it on a tray next to a glass of water and a medical kit I had already placed on it. Going into her room, I started to cry. Her bruises was so bad that I couldn't recognized my own mom. Shaking her awake, I helped her sit up and brought the glass of water to her mouth in which she drank greedily. Next, I started to inspect her wounds placing the necessary creams and bandages where needed. After, I made her drink the tea and helped her to take a bath and changed into fresh clothing. When I was done, she sat me down on her bed and pulled me into a hug thanking me over and over. Then, she said the words that will change our lives forever. " Rosa, after I am fully healed  we are going to go visit your aunt, but we are going to stay there until I can get a house close to hers to live. I have decided to leave your dad, I gave him to many chances and tonight proved how much he don't trust me. I know sometimes I agree with him when his wrong and you keep telling me he is manipulating me  but I can't take it anymore. I really love him but this is just to much."

I was shocked but I had to agree with her decision. I know that I have to start all over again but my mom's health and safety is more important. I gave her an encouraging smile and told her I'm always here to support her.

Hey loves. I know I promised to update everyday but college has been keeping me active with all those assignments and exams. This is my last year before I graduate and I am aiming for a 4.0 gpa. I was closed last session, I had a 3.75 gpa but like I always say always aim for the top.  In the mean while, please bare with me, whenever I'm free I will update and do not forget to correct me on any mistakes made.

My question for today is: Which bts member is your bias???

For me my first bias was V, however, when I started to know the members more  I started to like suga and can relate to him the most, especially when it comes to sleeping.  Suga is my bias now and have been for a few months. Don't hesitate to comment your bias and I'll update whenever I can.
