Kakyoin's pov

I felt a hand gently placed on my shoulder
"Happy birthday Nori!" mom? I looked up at the women smiling placing a hand on my shoulder. I look up to see my dad walking with a delicious white chocolate cake in his hands.
"Happy birthday kiddo!" he said with a warm smile. I looked down at the cake with four candles on it.  My fourth birthday.
"Well what are your waiting for blow out your candles" I complied and blew out my candles they both cheered
"What did you wish for Nori?" my mom questioned with a tone of voice I haven't heard in years. I didn't respond I knew it wasn't real. I sat at the table and looked down at the cake trying my best to feel the warm feeling I felt in that moment so long ago.

When I heard the beeps of my alarm the suspicions about my dream rang true. I inhaled as I rubbed my temples than clasped my hands over my nose. I thought I had forgotten about that memory. I glanced at my clock no time to cry about something so long gone. I slowly sat up and reached my foot to the floor.

I went through my normal morning routine. I looked in the mirror as I made some adjustments to my green uniform. I  quietly slipped out of the house and started my walk to school feeling even more queasy with each step. As I approached the huge house that has caught my eye a number of times, I see the boy who lives there walk out as I reach the gate. Jotaro. I stopped in my tracks now that he was right in front of me. We stood there for a moment looking at each other like we were in a stand off. He then nodded to acknowledge me to break up the tension and went on his way. I walked slowly behind him trying to create some distance between us.

As we continued our walk to school I noticed him soon being swarmed by a hoard if girls. They were all calling his name in a sweet tone
"Jotaro!"
Guess he's popular. I mean I won't deny he's pretty good looking no wonder all the girls are surrounding him.

This time I arrived on time to my class and quietly sat in my seat. As the teacher was reading out the schedule and calling role I heard the door open. My eyes followed the noise seeing Jotaro walk in fashionably late.
"Late again Mr.Kujo" the teacher said not even looking up from his paper like he expected it. Jotaro just ignored him and sat behind me which made his desk shake with the sudden new weight.

As the teacher was lecturing us I felt a tap on my back. I slowly turn around to see Jotaro behind me.
"Hey can I borrow a pen?"
I nodded and reached into my bag searching for it. I stretched out my hand offering him my pen.
"Thanks I'll return it" he said taking the pen from my hand
"No you can keep it." I didn't need it anyways it's just a pen
"Oh um thanks um also-" Jotaro was cut off by the teacher.
"If you two boys want to chat you can do that after school while you clean my classroom."
" Oh no I was just-" I tried my best to explain myself. I've never been in trouble.
"After class Mr. Kakyoin" I sighed and sunk into my desk great.

When the bell for lunch rang I still hadn't recovered from the scolding I received earlier. I shouldn't associate with him I thought glancing at Jotaro. I just need to focus on my grades and get out of here. I walked up to the snack bar with even less lunch money balled up in my hand. I groaned guess I'm not getting lunch ether. When I turned around I saw Jotaro standing tall behind me.
"Are you not gonna get something?" He asked not even looking my way
"no." I said trying to squeeze my way out of the line.
"I'll pay." He said nudging me back in line.
"It's fine" I said still looking for an exit.
"Think of it as payment for the pen incident."
"If you insist" It took little convincing to get me to give in because I was so intimidate, also because I couldn't get out of line with the way he was standing.
"What do you want?"
"Just a strawberry milk." I responded keeping my eyes on the floor. He was standing so close behind me, it made my chest feel weird
"You have to have something besides that"
"It's fine" Why is my heart beating so fast?
"I insist" I knew no matter what I said he wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Then I'll just have a chocolate roll too" He nodded and stepped in front of me to order. I stood to the side waiting for him to get the food.
"Here" He said handing me the food
" Thanks I'll pay you back"
"Don't" he said in slightly hostile tone
"Oh okay"
"Are you gonna sit on the roof today?"
I was taken aback by this question should I say yes? "Oh um y-yeah" he started walking away then stopped to turn to me and signaled for me to follow him. I hesitated for second but  eventually followed him.
