The teens ran through the dark forest, passing through braches of trees, not minding the cuts they acquire due to the splinters.

They bolt pass looming trees, sometimes stumbling on their roots. But none of them stopped. None wanted to be near the camp any second longer.

The noises of monstrous snarling seems to have followed them them no matter how far they have ran. The screams of agony haunted them as well as the visions of their fellow campers' dead bodies.

The sky was gloomy. Stars were nowhere to be found, covered by the grey clouds. Wind started to pick up it's pace, causing leaves around them to rustle. Strikes of lightning were seen among the clouds followed by distant thunder.

A storm was brewing over the horizon.

"Over here!" Soobin shouted. He stood in front of a huge cave, under the mountain, waving his hand at the others.

Once the five of them enter the dark and mossy cave, their bodies instanly gave in, falling to the ground.

Only heavy breaths mixing with the noise of a downpour was heard. No one said a thing, no one really had any thing to say.

Yeonjun sat with his backpack wrapped around his arms and back leaning on the walls of the cave. He stared at the heavy rain outside with nothing but a blank expression.

Honestly, all this was too much for his brain to handle. Up until now, those that had happended still felt surreal. As if it was all just a nightmare.

If only it was.

"Oppa..." Yuna's trembling voice broke the thick silence. "What is going to happen to us now?"

Soobin, who sat next to her, wrap the girl in his arms. "Honestly, i am not sure. But i can promise that i will never let anything bad happen to us."

Yuna did not reply, instead she snuggled deeper into the older's arms, letting the unbearable silence to take over once more.

The next morning, the sun rise ever so normally that i almost tricked him into thinking all those happened the day before was really just a nightmare.

Yeonjun sat near the entrance of the cave with his back against the stone wall. He stared at the soft sunlight that's peaking through the layer of forest leaves.

The boys was the first of the five to wake up- well not like he could get any decent sleep anyway.

The scene he witnessed the night before haunted him to no end. The second he close his eyes, all he could see was red. Everytime he managed to get some sleep, images of blood, corpses of the campers and screams of terror would always flash though his mind, depriving him of sleep.

"Can't sleep?"

Yeonjun let out a dry chuckle. Even without turning around, he could instantly recognize who the voice belong to.

"I was rather amazed that you people could rest even after what happened."

Soobin chuckled- no sign of humor in his tone. He went to take a seat next to his older brother, turning his gaze to whatever Yeonjun was staring at.

"You know, everything still feel like a dream." The older mindlessly said. "Just yesterday we were having fun with the others to celebrate Yuna's birthday, but then suddenly that happened."

Silence loomed over the two Kim before the younger decided to broke it.

"To be honest, i am lost."

Hearing that sudden confession, Yeonjun finally turn his attention to the younger boy. Soobin leaned his head on the cave wall, smiling bitterly.

"I promised Yuna that i will protect you guys no matter what, but i don't even have a clue as to what we'll be facing in the future- and for that i am scared."

Yeonjun stared at his brother in perplexity. Soobin was usually a very closed off person, that not even he- the guy's blood brother- could guess what's in the younger boy's mind.

But seeing the person they- the teens- have always regard as a leader this fragile, it somehow gave him mixed feelings.

"Uh- i am not sure what to say-"

Soobin let out a short laugh. In that situation, it sounded so refreshing.

"You don't have to say anything." The younger chuckled. "I did not expect you to, anyway. Even though you are older, you've been shit at giving encouragement ever since we're kids."

Yeonjun shot the boy a look. He honestly felt insulted, but he couldn't say anything against it since it's true.

"You know, even so i'm still older-"

Faint noises behind them made the two snap their heads around- the current situation causing them to develop a high sense of alert.

To their relieve, it was just the others waking up.

"Morning." Yuna croaked. Her voice barely audible, possibly because how hard she had cried the day before.

Her complexion was not that good either. Her hair was a mess and her eyes were all puffy. Not to mention her pale face.

"So, any plans as to what we're going to do now?" Taehyun asks, almost nonchalantly, as he pull out several canned food from his bag.

Soobin sighed. He was trying really hard to run away from reality, but it seems like that won't do.

"For now, all i could think about is going South, just as the chief told us to."

"Do you even know where's south?" Beomgyu asked with raised brow while munching on his 'breakfast'.

Yuna rummages her bag before taking out a compass. She tossed the round thing towards their leader.

Soobin caught it expertly before sighing once more.

"Seems like that's one problem solved."

"Next problem, what's there in the south?" Taehyun said, chewing the canned beef, slapping Beomgyu's hand away when he tried to stole some. "We can't just head south without even knowing what's there, right?"

The older went silent, causing the blonde to groan.

"I knew this would happen." He sounded somewhat frustrated, but at the same time his tone showed hints of resignation. "This is why i hate teaming up with you brainless people."

"Yeah, yeah. We're brainless, so what?" Yeonjun sighed. He pushed himself off the ground, slinging his backpack around his shoulder. "Since it's already like this, shouldn't we just take any chances we have left? I mean, it would be better to move on than to rot away here, right?"

"Well that's a surprise. For once you speak like your age." Taehyun shot him a sarcastic smile to which the oldest replied with a deadpan glare.

"Well, i have to agree with Yeonjun this time." Soobin said as he stood up. "It's better to go with the flow. Perhaps we'll be able to find something along the way."

"So it's decided, then?" Beomgyu asks, throwing away the empty can before standing up.

"Yeah. We'll head south."
