Two days after Arielle was buried, I found myself doing another thing I was so perfect at. Spying.

A blonde wig covered my dark brown hair and I wore dark glasses that served two purposes: hiding my identity and protecting my eyes from the blinding sun.

Immediately the bell was rung at school, I had dashed into the dressing room and changed out of my school clothes into something else. Everyone had heard the news of Arielle's death and they stared at me pitifully. I knew what some people would say behind my back. The same thing my parents accused me of.

They had not spoken a word to me since she died, making me wonder what kind of punition they had for me.

I was cycling fast behind the bus that the ginger-haired idiot was in. I could not afford to get them out of my sight again after the first time. I went through so much trouble locating the red reared bus.

I slowed down when the bus did. It spluttered to a halt at a bus stop and some people alighted. The ginger-haired was among them.

I rode into a cramped corner where I adjusted my wig just so it wouldn't fall off during my expedition. I applied a little more of my purple lipstick, something a girl in the neighborhood gave me. A random act of kindness I'd never forget.

I kept an eye on him all through this. His eyes never wandered to where I was. Boy had no instincts.

He adjusted his backpack on his shoulders and started to walk in another direction. I thought of following him with the bicycle but decided against it immediately. I chained the bicycle to a post and patted an old dog's head, telling it to watch over it for me.

I set out on my task of following him, careful not to make any suspicious moves. I walked as briskly as he did. When I was  almost closing the space between us, I waited and pretended to do something. I stood till there was a lot of gap between us before I took off again. I mixed with the scores of people on the busy streets who strayed with no care in the world. None of them would think the blonde girl walking around has had a very bitter life and is set on a revenge wayfare.

He rounded a short bend and I quickened my pace. I was not far away by the time I passed the bend too. The street was equally busy. The heavens were smiling on me.

He started to walk faster as he approached a house. The structure looked like it housed vampires with the way it stood.

He unlocked the door and entered the house. Did I not say he was dumb? He did not even look back for once.

I sat on a bench with some other people and watched the house. I liked that no one was paying attention to another person. Everyone was minding their business.

I watched him push a window open and saw movements behind it. That was his room. I studied how far the window was from the floor and imagined myself jumping through it to get to him. It seemed so easy. Getting to him and forcing a pillow across his face, he would struggle and I would watch with so much amusement. My palms itched in anticipation.

I smacked my lips and stood up, ready to leave. I was not going to take actions yet. I'd be back in the night at the same time he killed my sister. Soon, he was going to join her.
