Hi guys! Thanks for reading this book until this point. I really appreciate it and I implore you to add it to your reading list(s), it would make people find the novel easier.

I decided to write this chapter to tell us about what Alice had in the story. ADHD. This chapter is dedicated to a friend that has this condition.

I am no doctor but I thought you'd like to see this, as it would help greatly in our approach to those that have it and all of that.

  And many more.

Some children, especially those who are gifted, can easily become bored and impulsive, especially at school. They'll stare out the window or doze off in class.

A gifted child can also become bossy and may not make friends easily because they are often seen as know-it-alls.

They dislike routines, resist directions and can be disruptive. They'll look for something to keep their mind occupied.

Sleep apnea is a common condition that is often misdiagnosed with ADHD and vice versa. Fortunately, researchers are devising simple tests to definitively diagnose and get people the treatment they need.

When ADHD may be something else:

Dehydration: Your brain needs water to work. When you're low on fluids, your brain's chemistry gets thrown off, and your memory and your ability to think clearly make decisions suffer.

Drink a glass of water when you feel like your thoughts aren't clicking. To help keep your body hydrated, have one with every meal and at least one between meals. Drink up before, after and while you exercise too.

Diet: A healthy meal or snack could help you concentrate. Eating a lot of sweets though, could slow down your brain.

Caffeine: A little caffeine can help you focus, but too much can make you jittery and restless. Also, having caffeine later in the night might cause trouble sleeping, which can also make you distracted.

How to act towards them:
_ Encourage professional help
_ Don't parent
_ Emphasize strengths
_ Be patient
_ Prioritize communication
_ Address specific problems
_ Listen to them
_ Keep it interesting
_ Give praise and encouragement
_ Provide structure
_ Encourage exercise
_ Practice good sleep hygiene
_ Keep distractions to a minimum

ADHD PATIENTS ARE NEITHER SUICIDAL NOR EVIL!

IN ALL, CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.
