Takes place during the 4th season of Dragons: Race to the Edge after the episode sandbusted.
Hiccup's pov:
I woke up to dragon saliva all over my face. "Toothless! You know that doesn't wash out!" I said in annoyance. Toothless just chuckled and ran towards the door and stopped signaling me to go outside with him for our morning flight. "Alright bud, im coming" I said while getting out of bed. I quickly got up and walked outside to see that everybody was gathered around the arena. I wonder what this was about.
As me and Toothless walked towards the arena we heard yelling. As soon as I heard astrid yelling, I knew who she must be arguing with, Snotlout. "Why would you even consider-" she said before getting cut off, "Because you are to good for him!" He said pointing at me, "he is ugly, weak, and is a literal fishbone while me on the other hand-" I didn't even want to listen to what else he had to say. I ran off into the woods tears threatening to fall.
Astrid's pov:
"He is ugly, weak, and is a literal fishbone while me on the other hand is handsome-" I've had enough. I punched him leaving him unconscious. I saw hiccup run away towards the woods so i followed. "Hiccup?" I called out after a few minutes trying to find him. No answer. "Hiccup i know you're-" I saw him sitting alone by Toothless hunched over. As I walked closer, I heard crying. "Are you ok Hiccup?" I asked while sitting next to him and putting my hand on his shoulder. "Yeah, I'm fine" he said while sniffing and rubbing his nose. I hugged him. He soon melted into it. "Why does he always treat me like this. Its been going on for years now" he said my neck muffling his words a little bit. "Don't listen to him ok?" I said looking him in the eyes. "You are not ugly, nor weak. In fact you are the most brave, selfless, kind, and strong person i have ever met." I said. "Really?" He asked a little sad smile playing on his lips. "Of course. I would never lie to you about that" I said smiling.
Hiccup's pov:
"Of course. I would never lie to you about that" she said a big smile on her lips. As soon as she said that I kissed her. When we broke apart I looked her in the eyes and said, "Thank you Astrid. You mean the world to me. What would I ever do without you?" I asked love written in my voice. "Actually the real question is, what would I do without you?" They kissed again then fell asleep in each others arms.
