"That sure was a fun party," Vega remarked. She and the Sun had just left and were now walking home. Actually, the Sun was walking his friend home first. Smiling, he replied, "Yeah, it was fun. Remember how drunk Betelgeuse got on the star catnip?"
"Oh my Celestial that was funny! But I never wanna hear him sing ever again," Vega giggled. Both star cats laughed at the memory of Betelgeuse singing Wrecking Ball way off key. Snorting a little, Vega went on, "And remember when he climbed up on the chandelier and swung back and forth while singing?"
"He actually did become a wrecking ball when his big fat butt broke the darn thing," the Sun snickered. That sent the pair into another laughing fit. Wiping a tear away, Vega meowed, "And the best part of that whole thing was that Sirius managed to record it all on his phone!"
"Really?!"
"Yes! He's posting it on YouTube later tonight!"
"He better send us a link!"
"I'll make sure he will."
"Well, here we are," the Sun declared, spotting Vega's house up ahead. Smiling softly, Vega turned to him and meowed, "Thank you for walking me home." Shrugging his shoulders, the Sun murmured, "Oh, it was nothing. Just trying to be a good friend."
"And you are one of the best there are," Vega remarked. She reached over and gave his cheek a small lick. The Sun blushed in response. At that moment, it started snowing stardust. Gasping with delight, Vega giggled happily. The Sun grinned, watching the small flakes flutter down. The two star cats smiled at each other. They sat down and pressed their foreheads together. Looking Vega in the eye, the Sun spoke softly, "Vega, I need to tell you something..."
Just then, they both heard a pained whimper and a soft thud.
