Casey stood in front of a mirror gazing at her outfit. She was in an emerald green tuxedo with the first three shirt buttons open and her hair slightly slicked back. Against her will, she also had light eyeliner and mascara. She'd never really been interested in prom but what could she say, it was for Izzie.

"Casey! Hurry up, you'll be late to pick up Izzie!" Elsa yelled up the staircase

"Jeez woman, I'm coming!" Casey yelled back, turning to look back at herself one more time.

Nearly tripping, Casey ran down the stairs and grabbed her keys while dodging Elsa's excessive compliments. She almost forgot the corsage on her way out. When she got to Izzies house, it was a shocker that she hadn't gotten a speeding ticket. Another deep breath was taken before she knocked on the door.

It opened to reveal Izzie standing there in a light blue satin dress with her hair elegantly falling on her shoulders and her makeup looking almost professional. Casey's eyes widened as they fell upon her perfect girlfriend, causing Izzies cheeks to flush pink.

"Staring much?" Izzie failed to stop the smile on her face.

"Am I wrong to stare?" Casey returned the question with a smirk.

Izzie paused to look at the box in Casey's hand. She noticed where the attention was redirected and opened it. "Oh um, this is for you."

Her already earth shattering smile grew wider as Casey placed the corsage on her wrist, the area instantly becoming warm.

"Its gorgeous." She grinned like a crazy person.

Casey's face filled with satisfaction as she gestured towards the car.

"I'd love to stand here and stare at you all night but we've got to go." She smiled, grabbing Izzie's hand.

Everything in Clayton was expensive, especially the events. The gym looked like something out of a dream and Casey already felt goosebumps on her arm. Whether that was from the overwhelming situation or simply from Izzie's arm intertwined with hers was unclear, but she was nervous.

Izzie felt the awkward shift in her stance and turned to face her. "Hey, it's okay. We're here to have fun.

All Casey gave was an unconvincing nod which made Izzie frown slightly. However, both their faces lit up again when Yoko Ono started to play through the speakers.

"Oh my god." Casey smiled softly.

"Come on, we deserve some redemption." Izzie started to drag her onto the dance floor.

They began to dance in sync like the first time they'd danced to the song. Only this time, Izzie didn't run away and instead leaned in to place a soft kiss on Casey's lips. But suddenly a commotion caused them to pull apart.

"Hey girlies!" Nate yelled from behind them, clearly drunk.

Casey clenched her fist tightly and turned to face him. "What the fuck do you want?"

He ignored her and looked at izzie. "Well damn, now I know why you broke up with me, you were too busy fucking this one behind my back."

"Get. Out. Of. Here." Izzie spat through gritted teeth.

"Or wha-"

Before he could finish, Casey laid him flat on the ground. Blood spurted out of his nose as he landed on the gym floor - cursing loudly. In the end, Nate got kicked out for drinking.

"Asshole." Casey muttered as he walked out.

"You know what, screw him. I came here to have fun with my girlfriend and I'm going to do that." Izzie tried to breathe life into the situation.

"Yeah, screw Nate. Let's go dance."

And with that, they disappeared into the crowd to enjoy the rest of their night.
