Sad looks

-Drew's POV-

"Oh. It's you." Hailey said. Her face draining from her previous happy expression. "What do you want."

"Jee, don't sound to enthusiastic. I'm here cause Jake invited me. I'm not here to make fun of you, just wanna see the performance." I waited a second. "Plus I couldn't miss my best friends concert, Hailey."

I walked off and went exploring.

-Hailey's POV-

'Did he just call me Hailey? He's never called me that before. I don't know what it means but I'm onto him.' Me, Zander, and Luke just looked at each other. All of our faces said "What the heck?".

Besides that, we just went in our practice room and greeted everybody. After saying hello we were gonna practice, but I needed to talk to Jake first.

"Hey." I tapped Jake's shoulder from behind him.

"Oh, hey Hailey!" He said giving me a smile and turned around to face me.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a second..?" -me

"Yeah sure, of course." -Jake

We walked to one of the farthest corners of the room, and began our conversation. "Sooooo..." I started.

"You brought Drew.." -Me

"Yeah? Well I mean- I know he hasn't treated our music group the best over the past few months, but..." He paused and looked down. What's saddening him?

"He's been acting different. And I guess it's good cause he doesn't tease us anymore, but I can't help but feel like he's hiding something. Something that's bothering him enough to make him sad. All the time..." -Jake

I don't want Jake worrying over Drew. He's not worth it. Can't he see we're his real friends? I don't know how many times I have to tell him to leave that stupid passé of his.

But...
He does seem down about it.. and as his friend, I need to be here for him. So, I gave him the best advice I could think of.

"Well, if it's bothering you, you should try and ask him if anything's wrong. It might help..?" I said with a sincere voice. "I'm sure if there's anyone he'd tell, it would be you."

I smiled at him with a blush. He looked at me and gave a heartwarming smile too. We locked eyes for a couple seconds. Until he spoke;

"Yeah.. I'll go find him." -Jake

He walked off away from our door, in search for Drew.

-Jake's POV-
I walked around a bit until I spotted a recognizable shade of magenta hair, sitting in a dark corner. There was Drew. Sitting by himself, on the floor, tucked away in a corner. Not the Drew I remember at all.

I walked over to him and stopped as I looked down. He was drawing something... his head was down too, so I don't think he knew I was watching. I leaned down and sat next to him, with my knees scrunched up against my stomach, looking at Drew.

"Wach-ya drawing?" -Me

He jumped and messed up a little bit. His shocked expression didn't last long, as it was replaced with a more miserable look.

"You messed me up Jakeeee." Drew whined as he looked down at his picture.

I don't know why but hearing him whine my name made my face hot a lil... that's odd.? He has a cute pout on his face too...

"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you, heh." I chuckled.

"It's fine I guess.. But to answer your question I'm- well it's just better to show." Drew said. He picked up his pile of papers and presented them. Holding up one of each thing he's drawn.

"This first one is of Hailey on fire. This next one is of Hailey drowning. Oh! And this one is Zander's grave. And my last one is me ripping Hailey apart limb from limb." He finished with a smile, and looked at me proud.

My face was stunned. He actually put effort into drawing them in pain? Seriously?

I put on a "Are you kidding me?!" face and looked at him.

"What?" -Drew

"I thought you were past hating on them?!" I exaggeratively said.

"I don't hate all of them..." he said with an embarrassed look. "...just Hailey" He mumbled that last bit, but I was close enough to hear.

"Why? Why don't you like Hailey..?" I asked.
"Cause!

...nothing. It's not important." He said getting up from next to me. I watched as he threw away his drawings. I immediately get up and pick them up out of the garbage and look at Drew. Something is definitely up.

I shoved the papers in my back pocket and caught up to Drew.

"Hey!" I yelled as I cached my breathe next to him.
"I still wanna give you a tour.." I gave him a sincere smile and picked up his hands. Looking deep into his eyes. They're so mysterious and confusing, yet I always get lost in them...

He blushed as he looked between our hands and back up at me. "Oh, right.." his expression saddened and he removed his hands from mine. Which saddened me as well. I liked to touch of his skin...

"Well come on then! I'll show you everything!" I took one of his hands again and guided him around backstage.

We bonded more and laughed along the way. I forgot how much I enjoyed his company.. I really need to spend more time with the boys. But what's important right now is that I figured out what's wrong with Drew. And hopefully help him as much as I can..

We walked back to the corner I found him drawing in, and thought that sense we've bonded more. Now might be the best time to ask what's going with him.

"Soo.." I scratched the back of my head as I looked at him. He was smiling off to the side. Such a cute smile. I've really missed it.. His attention quickly focused on me though, and with that his smile went away.

"I've noticed you haven't been yourself the past month... and I was just wondering if everything was alright. I want you to know that even if my main focus is the music club right now, I still care about you. And if I could, I would spend more time with you, but I can't." I assured.

He looked at me with such a scared yet intimidating expression. What was he thinking? He hasn't said anything and seems worried. "Hey.."

I leaned closer and grabbed his waist pulling him closer to me. He placed his hands on my chest and looked around frantically. Was this too close? But I want him to know I'm here..

"You don't have to tell me now.. but just know I care about you. Your my best friend, and I want to help you as much as I can." He was looking down. Almost shamefully. I picked up his head and made sure he was looking at me.

"Im here."
