"You... Don't actually know what you're doing, do you?"
The girl whipped her head around to glare at Brian, though her attempt to be intimidating was ruined by her flustered face.
"I have an idea or two!", Leona angrily yelled. She grabbed a satin pillow and threw it the boy's head. He simply moved his head to the side to dodge it.
"Trust me, I get a lot of kidnapping and assassination attempts. Being a politician's daughter and all that. You're just the first person I've decided to keep as a hostage."
"You don't even know who I am." Leona smirked.
"Of course I do! I wouldn't take a hostage if I didn't do my research. You're Brian Caldwell, son of the city's most feared mafia boss. Said mafia boss is also extremely rich and powerful."
Brian raised an eyebrow. "What exactly are you planning?"
"It's simple. I want them to help my dad win in the upcoming elections. Should they fail to do so, I'll just kill you by putting a bullet through your head, and mailing said head to any place they have connections with!" She placed her hands on hips, seemingly proud of her plan.
Brian shuddered. Normally he wouldn't take threats like these seriously, but this girl was different. Leona had somehow managed to anticipate his arrival, sneak up behind him and knock him out cold with a metal baseball bat, and tie him up tightly to prevent him from leaving. She'd also been careful to place him somewhere where there was no way he could use something to cut him free of his bonds without drawing attention to himself.
"But I thought you said you didn't care about your dad's job or politics!"
"Oh I don't. And at first I was actually going to just hold you for ransom money, because contrary to popular belief, he does not give me any sort of allowance. But then I thought about the bigger picture."
She walked behind her canopy bed, and wheeled out a giant chalkboard, and whipped out a long pointing stick.
"What the actual fuck?"
"If my dad won the election, then he'd start feeling a lot more happier and generous. Meaning, he'd start actually giving me an allowance. Then, the pressure of having to keep all his promises would get to him, and I'd offer to make a post on social media defending him if he payed me enough money. I'd continue the cycle over and over until I'm 18 and I have enough to live comfortably in a big house with a lot of pets. Then, I'll air out all his dirty secrets and become super popular online with a bunch of fans, and then I'll stop posting completely and go under completely different and anonymous social media handles and live out the rest of my days lavishly." Brian's cautious look turned into one of concern.
"In the meantime, you're going to be my personal servant! When election day comes, that's when you're fate will be decided. And if you manage to be good, I'll let you outside the property for walks.", the girl said, smugly.
"What am I, your dog?", he asked, sarcastically. Leona looked thoughtful for a moment, and then opened her mouth to speak. "Actually don't answer that.", Brian quickly interrupted.
