I quickly pressed my fingers on the typewriter in front of me. Several Law Enforcement reports that I have read from articles of The Daily Prophet, I am looking for reports and investigations regarding dark wizards and witches selling illicit magic and if my fellow Aurors suspects anyone, that's my question that was remained unanswered.
I reviewed all the files starting the year I got out of the country until the present time I have dug up, but not even one mentions the name Draco Malfoy or if not, Dragon.
In the kind of work I'm in— in the kind of Ministry I am part of, which was Illegal Misuse of Magic, I'm a hundred percent allowed to use the universal intelligence to make my work easier, but I would not do it for Draco's sake.
For reasons I don’t know, I don’t want anyone else to know about the illegal activities of Draco and his friends. I know it’s wrong, yes, but I can’t afford to harm and lock Draco with my own hands, not in my watch at least.
But Kate, it's an obstruction of justice. My conscience was holding me back and at the same time pushing me not to.
I gasped for air and released it when I could think of no other way to find out more knowledge about Draco's illegal activities. I wanted to know everything about him really bad. I wanted to know everything about Draco and all of his whereabouts, especially his illegitimate actions.
I was full of vexation as I wiped my palm along my face and winced slightly and feeling the sudden pricking in my jaw caused by Draco's tight grip on it, almost three days ago. But why is it that even in such pain, I don't feel a little angry with Draco and everything seems to be fine?
I turned my attention to the pile of reports lying on my work desk, still thinking of a way to find out Draco’s other secrets, then Ron sat beside me.
Harry, Ron and I are hanging out, home, now because they have spare time to meet me and maybe by next week they will be back to their usual graveyard shift again.
"I got some news for you, Katy Cat." Ron said as he indulge the taste of crêpe in his mouth, however, he sounds weighty.
I spun my head and eyed on him. He's such a messy eater, with chocolate syrup smudged around his lips. "A great one or a horrid one?"
Harry barged in. "A little bit of both wouldn't kill you, would it?" he laughed lowly and read the latest issue of The Daily Prophet.
"Who's the source then?" I grabbed the plate on Ron's hand and took a bite on his burnt crêpes. It just feels weird to be with them knowing that our next door neighbors are the ones they fought years back.
"The Minister himself."
I felt exalted and nervous all at once. "What did he say?"
Ron dramatically rolled his eyes and spoke with his mouth full. "You were so busy there in front of your typewriter and you never saw the mail crash from outside your window." he shook his head. “So if I were you, I’d start reading that because I’m sure you’ll take a long time."
My eyebrows met halfway. "But I'm still doing something." Speaking of which, I hurriedly hid the report I was making about Draco under the pile of files. Fortunately, the two of them didn't notice.
"I guess it's different this time, Katy Cat. Looks like you don't have to help your friend —"
"Kaori."
"Kaori is on hand with her mission, by herself." Harry ended. Ron and I had already told them about the reason why I came back here.
"So much about my work, guys. What about the ladies?" I shifted the topic off my work because it's pressuring me so much.
