"All I'm saying is you need to talk to your cousin. Now she's tryna start shit with me too!" Alex told Cotton as they sat down at Empire. Of course she was talking about Tiana. Apparently there was a 2v2 standoff between Star, Alex, Treasure, and Tiana yesterday all because of a clap back song.
Cotton responded to her. "I mean, you did jump into their beef. You're helping Star clap back."
Alex shook her head. "It's just a song and it's barely a diss. We're just gonna keep Tiana and Treasure in check."
Cotton sighed. "I wish all of you would get along. Y'all are too grown to be acting like this."
"We can't get along until Tiana and Treasure get off their high horses. And Star and Tiana will never get along as long as they're messing with each other's baby daddy's, let's be real."
That's so true. "I know. Star's messed up for messing with Hakeem first."
"So you're on Tiana's side?"
"I'm not on anyone's side. I'm neutral."
Alex pressed on. "But if it came down to it, who would you choose?"
Cotton really hated when people asked her that question because they were just jinxing it. She didn't want things to ever get to the point where she had to choose between her cousin and her sister from another mother!
But Cotton answered honestly. "Okay, I'll be honest. Star is like a sister to me but she's not my blood. So if it came down to it, I have to stick with my cousin."
Alex frowned. "Damn. Well I appreciate the honesty."
"But please don't tell Star that! I don't wanna argue with her next!" Cotton pleaded.
"Your secret is safe with me."
Alex and Cotton decided to change the topic after that, but the door opened and they looked at it. Cotton's stomach churned when she saw Jamal's face.
Jamal apologized. "My bad. I ain't know y'all was in here."
That was a damn lie. "Yeah I'm sure you didn't."
Jamal sounded annoyed. "I didn't."
They just glared at each other now. The tension was too thick and it was making Alex uncomfortable. "Okay, should I leave orrrr?"
