NEXT DAY
Star had gone over to Noah's place to pick up Davis. Tiana was also on her way over, so he hoped Star would leave before then because he knew those two couldn't get along for shit. He didn't want anyone fighting in front of his son.
"How's my baby doing?" Star chirped as she bent over Davis's crib. As he gazed down at Davis, Noah informed her that he had just woken up, while Davis stared at them calmly with his big brown eyes. He was so relaxed these days, and Noah loved it. He enjoyed being a father, and Star was proud of him.
"Thank you for being such a great father, Noah." Her words were upbeat, but her demeanor wasn't. She appeared to be sad. "I honestly feel bad because the roles have reversed. You're spending more time with Davis than I am. I'm sorry. There's just so much going on."
"Like what?"
Noah quickly regretted his question when she said, "Like your girl hanging out with my man in the middle of the night."
Huh? In the middle of the night...? "Wait a minute. I know you aren't saying what I think you're saying."
"They didn't have sex, but Hakeem went to Tiana's house. She was bragging about it."
Bragging? Why is she bragging about her ex coming to her house in the middle of the night? Why was he even at her house at that hour? Star claimed they didn't have sex, but what else can you do in the middle of the night while everyone else is sleeping? Come on, now. That didn't even make sense.
He was now furious. All he wanted was a peaceful Friday, but now this shit was popping off. Tiana was constantly putting him through hell. It was getting old.
"I'm guessing you didn't know..." Star said carefully after sensing his rage.
"Hell na, I didn't know! But thanks for telling me because Tiana damn sure wasn't going to." Then the doorbell rang downstairs. There goes her sneaky ass now.
Star picked up Davis and his belongings. The parents went downstairs, and Noah swung the door open, seeing Tiana standing opposite him. She smiled at him, but then she noticed Star, and her face fell. Her suspicious eyes flickered between them, and Noah had no idea what she was suspicious of. He should be suspicious of her and Hakeem! "Uh, what's going on here?"
