"It Was So..."

Chapter Five

Qibli shook his head. What was he thinking? There was nothing there. He was just paranoid about being found out about.. you know, how he and Winter had sex? Yeah... that.

"Hey, Sand Snorter." A familiar voice hissed. "Get over here, I'm not doing this alone you know."

"Right, right, sorry," Qibli smiled awkwardly, jogging to catch up with Winter. "How long did it take to build your Scavenger Sanctuary?"

"A couple years... to many to count." Winter answered gruffly. "But I'm proud of it. I can finally do something I like."

"Good, that's great. You should always do things you like." Qibli said. Like me. I like to protect Thorn and work as an OutClaw.

"You think so?" Winter asked worriedly, casting a quick glance at the SandWing beside him.

"I know so." Qibli chuckled, tapping Winter's shoulder with his wing. "Doing things you like makes you happy, doesn't it?"

"Yeah, I guess." Winter shrugged his shoulders. "I just never really got to do those things. It's just... hard when you have a family that always wants you to be perfect."

"You have family here, you know," Qibli pointed out, angling towards the Sanctuary with his wings. "You're already perfect here. In your own way."

Suddenly, Winter stopped. His eyes rolled to the back of his head and he began foaming at the mouth. He stumbled side-ways, knocking he and Qibli over.
"Winter!" Qibli shrieked, grabbing his whatever-you-May-call-it in his talons. "Winter!"
Within seconds, Qibli felt Kinkajou, Moon & Turtle at his side, with a few other unknown dragons creeping at the edge.
"What happened to him?" Moon asked, hoisting Winter into her shoulders. "He looks... rabid." She gasped. "He doesn't have rabies, does he?"

"No! He would have said something!" Qibli retored, flaring his wings. "Let's just hurry up and get him to the healers at the RainWing village."

And with that, the group of multi-tribal dragons were swept off their feet and into the air with a graceful sweep of their wings.
