Third Person

Steve was horrified. His little sisters eyes were pure white. "Ariel I-i-i can't see you. A-all I see in black a-and the only thing I ven feel is your hand" Lilly stuttered out.

Dylan slapped a hand to his mouth in shock. "Let's get her to the quinjet. She'll be safe there" Dylan suggested.

Lilly whipped her head around to try find Dylan's direction. "Dyl?" She mumbled. Dylan shush her laying a soft palm on her cheek.

Steve gulped making Lilly's head turn away from Dylan. "Stevie?" She whispered. St e was confused and so was bucky. She only called Steve 'stevie' when she was younger.

"Lil's?" Bucky answered. Lilly let out a mini gasp and hugged the closest to her which was Steve.

The man held his sister tight.

"I'm so so sorry Steve. I-i-i tried"

"Do you think we can reverse the affects?" Steve asked examining the machine as Dylan took Lilly tot he Quinjet along with Natasha.

"No, or at least I haven't tried" Ariel mumbled. "So you've done this before?" Sam asked. Ariel turned to him with a clear face.

"Yes I have. But it was to make Vulnerable looking Widows then make them unexpecting villains." Ariel explained. "And you didn't think of making something to reverse it?!" Steve yelled.

"Well The Red Room didn't want a reverse cure for it!" Ariel yelled. Bucky adjusted the gun under his shoulder uncomfortable with the subject.

"Maybe stark could find away, or banner" Ariel shook her head. "You guys don't get it. Lilly can't see! And she will never see again! She's going to be like that for the rest of her life!" Ariel yelled. Bucky fed up with this decided to silence everyone with an outburst.

"Then you live with the burden! I already have the burden of leaving her! It's your fault she's gone completely blind, but don't go blaming me for leaving her nearly 80 years ago cause I know if I had the choice to actually survive the war and not be kidnapped by Hydra, I would be exactly by her side! Growing old!"

Ariel looked down. Bucky was right. It was her fault. Or that's what she thought. Bucky stormed off with Sam following. Steve put a hand on Ariel's shoulder.

"Don't worry Ariel. It's my fault too. I didn't protect her enough"

Dylan laid Lilly on the bed. She was staring at the ceiling or at least she was trying to.

"You need anything? Water? Food?" He asked but Lilly shook her head. "Then what do you want?" He asked. He knew she wanted something.

Silent tears pooled in the blinded yes of the blonde. "Can I touch you?" She asked, sitting up to face him, except her head was turned looking at something that wasn't him. Dylan guided her hand to his cheek and she smiled slightly.

She started touching around his face as the tears fell from her eyes. "I can still picture your face in my head" She spoke in a sweet tone.

Dylan sadly smiled. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you" She smiles sadly.

"Sometimes what we can't do is what we're not supposed to do"

As Dylan wheeled Lilly to the infirmary Ariel talked to Tony who was shocked to see the girl with no pupils or color in her eyes.

"Run some tests. Maybe there is a way but I highly doubt it" Ariel said. Tony nodded and went off with Dylan and Lilly to see what's exactly going on.

"Where are they going?" A British accent broke Ariel's silence. She turned to see Thomas limping over to her.

She looked down shifting on her feet. "Ask someone else" she spoke. She turned on her heal and strode away leaving Thomas worried as he watched Dylan push Lilly into the lab room.

~

It's been two weeks, and Tony (with the help of Bruce) told the team the Lilly has permeant Blindness. He also discovered that she also got her memories back.

Good and bad ones.

Ariel blamed herself and kept herself locked up in her room. She didn't want to face her best friend cause she knew she put her pain.

Again.

Dylan kept making sure Lilly was happy. Weather it be putting a random flower in her hair or letting her touch his face.

Thomas was like Lilly's big brother and he helped her as much as Dylan did. But he was quite worried about Ariel.

He would leave food, flowers and slight candies at her door. When he would take five steps away the door would open and a arm would spring out and grab the Gift and slam the door again.

Currently Lilly was outside listening to Natasha shooting a target. "Nat?" Lilly spoke.

Natasha looked at her. "Yes Lil's?" She asked. "Can I have the gun?" Natasha looked at her confused but hesitantly gave her the gun.

Lilly touched and felt it like she did with Dylan's and Thomas's faces. Ariel watched from her Window.

She could spot the Trimble in Lilly's hands as she guided the along the Weapon.

"Can I shoot a target?" Lilly asked. Natasha was yet still confused but aimed the gun for Lilly at the target.

Lilly fired it multiple times before the bullets ran out. Each and every bullet hit the bullseye perfectly.

"Did I get it?" Lilly asked. Nat smiled down at her. "Yes you did. Good job" Lilly smiled slightly as Natasha wheeled her back inside.

Because of Ariel locking herself in the room, Lilly had a separate room all together that barely had any furniture due to her wheel chair and so it's safe for her to walk around.

And the avengers barely made her walk, so she doesn't trip and hurt herself.

Ariel sighed as tears fell from her eyes.

"I'm sorry Lils"
