"I think we have just made friends" Ezra replied as soon as the Master Shaman left. "I liked the Druid Chief."

"Me too" I added. But I preferred the Master Shaman, there was something about him that was trustworthy. "Did you guys get the feeling that they knew something we didn't"

"Yeah" Thomas nodded with a grimace.

"Honestly I have had that feeling since we came here" Ezra lifted his lip in dislike. He hated being kept out of things. "I felt like if they were trying to tell us something" Ezra closed his eyes. "Or, they couldn't tell us something. I think you should take up the Master's proposal. He might tell you what is going on?"

Byron cleared his throat.

"The Master Shaman takes students during the summer. It is easier to teach healing during the summer when the sun is the strongest" Byron rolled his eyes like if we were supposed to know.

"But can I join him?" Ezra had a good idea. I could join him and pull more information out of him. Ezra was right, they had been trying to tell us something.

"That is up to you but because I am your mentor, I would have to join you" Byron met my eyes. "I enjoy my summers, Iris."

"So do I" I shrugged. "Ezra and Thomas could come along."

"Umm no, I would rather hang out with the Druids" Ezra rubbed his hands together. "They sound much cooler"

"I would like to hang out with King Egerton" Thomas replied. "He could probably teach me some cool water tricks"

"I will see what I can do." Byron replied. "You realize that you will have me with you during the summer"

"Not the entire summer" Ezra sat down. He put his feet on Byron's desk. Byron's eyes narrowed and he waved his hand towards the wall. Ezra's chair was pulled backwards from the desk. We chuckled in response. "Like I was saying, not the entire summer. You would have to travel. The Druids are moving to the school grounds, and the Shaman are moving to one of the neutral territories"

"Yeah probably further south in Africa. The Mer-people like the coldest waters so my guess is either the South or North pole" Thomas took a seat next to Ezra. "It would be cool to learn some new things from different people. Isn't that what we want, Byron. We have to make friends, right? You said-" Thomas grinned up at Byron who had an ugly look on his face.

"Not at the expense of my summer" Byron grumbled. He was starting to regret his words. "Fine, but if you are going to meet new people. My suggestion would be to alternate your summer and spend your summer equally among the Druids, Shaman and the mer-people"

"I don't think King Egerton would like to have me around. He didn't seem to like me very much." He would probably drown me if he got the chance.

"I wonder what your dad did to him" Thomas slapped his knee. "Tried to dry up the lake"

"Maybe"

"What about the Ellers?" Ezra stifled a yawn. "We could learn from them too. They are into death omens" his eyes were suddenly shining. "I foresee your early death" he pointed at me. My response was to only roll my eyes at him.

"Don't joke around with that" Thomas slapped Ezra on his thigh. "Besides it would be neat to learn about the Ellers. There are so few of them, they are dying out because they are marrying outside and losing their abilities"

"I will see who I can talk to" Byron answered. Byron met my eyes momentarily. I was the only person that knew he was an Omniscient Eller. It was rather surprising that he wasn't protesting to the idea of meeting the Ellers. He was probably just as curious.
