Wherever does the tides of time will bring us both...
Can I rely on you to always take my hand?
When the skies cries and when the moon wails, when all the light fades...
"Takemichi.... Don't let go, please."
----
"Mikey... Are you okay?" Takemichi asks worriedly as Mikey then glance up to him, with a soft smile on his lips.
"Nothing... I'm alright... Let's go?" Mikey then tugs Takemichi away from the crowd, settling to a bench under a tree shade.
The small spots of light passing through the leaves, to a sit where the breeze hits them both just right and to a place where the world seems calmer and had revolved between the two of them once more.
Takemichi smiles peacefully as he see Mikey's tranquil expression. Maybe he had been just imagining it, but Mikey had seemed to have a lot of burden taken off his shoulders.
Mikey reminds him of a lone soldier who fought all alone... For a very long time to an unknown enemy.
Maybe the biggest enemies they had were there selves... As someone who fights the same war, Takemichi think of one thing to make Mikey feel at least a bit better.
Takemichi then places his hand atop of Mikey's hair, removing the cap the said male had worn. Mikey was silent for a moment before asking, "What is this for?"
"Just let me pat you for a bit... You seem so lonely sometimes and tired... I don't know what you've been through nor imagine it but... I know you've done your best Mikey..." Takemichi tries to reason as soft as he could as he gently caress Mikey's hair.
The lack of reaction making him hesitant as he slowly pull his hand back, only having Mikey tug his wrist, holding his hand on top of Mikey's head.
Mikey had a shy smile, "I never said I didn't like it... So just do it more, even if its just a bit."
Seeing his cute reaction, Takemichi clears his throat "I can pet you for as much as you want so don't hold back."
"I'll take you up on that offer then." Mikey closes his eyes as they both keep a soft smile on their faces, just like that moments pass as they enjoy the comfortable silence in between them.
A lot of things had happened on the past few days. Takemichi was suprised, scared, irritated, nervous and all, but most importantly he is happy. To have Mikey by his side is a blessing.
He had forgotten the last time he had ever felt this happy and comfortable with someone.
Takemichi believed that he could survive all alone, that it was better to be by himself. So that he could no longer be hurt and hurt someone.
But being with Mikey, made him forget all the pain he had carried. What it was like to be all alone... How painful... How dreadful it was.
With Mikey he felt oddly at peace. He felt happiness once more.
The happiness forcefully robbed from him, only to be returned tenfold.
"Mikey... Thank you..." Takemichi whispers as he try to hold back the tears pricking his eyes.
Mikey opens his eyes and he glanced to Takemichi, cupping the said boy's cheeks as he reply back, "What are you saying... I should be the one thankful... Thank you for being the one to save me, not only from the wound but for saving me from the loneliness... So don't hold back those tears of yours, My Crybaby Hero."
Takemichi got overwhelmed with a rush of suprise and warmth at his chest making tears fall from his eyes, Mikey hugged him closely to shield him from the world. To not let anyone see this vulnerable side of his, and just like that he let out the tears he tried so badly to contain.
He once dreamed to be a hero, and now he is called as one. It is a heavy word he once took lightly, but now... He never thought that, that pain could ever make him feel so free.
He hugs Mikey back as Mikey gently pat his back. The scent of their shared cologne, soap and shampoo. The scent of home... Mikey reminds him of a warm home, a place they belonged to.
Takemichi then withdraws from the hug as Mikey gently wipes his tears, the gentleness and tender he had never treated with by anyone.
Obsidian meeting cerulean, now with warmth and life behind their shared glance. Laughing warmly together as they link their hands together, talk about the unusual things in life, the way they saw the world, their favorite foods and their interest.
Two wounded souls under the shade of a tall tree, in a space that felt like they owned. Sharing the warmth they could barely contain.
