Withering away

Unafraid and carefree

we venture through life,

as we fall and laugh

in the dawn of our time.

Years come and years pass.

and the simplest of things,

which caused us to smile,

no longer do

as we slowly die.

A scary attic turns dull,

a floor of lava is just carpet,

and a bottle on the street

is no longer a ball

When we grow tired and old

Our adventurous nature

fades away

as life consumes

our spirit away.
