Crystal flew east, towards the Light Fey's territory. Thanks to the fight brewing at the meeting, the highway was deserted.
Crystal reached the Light Territory, and started getting anxious. She finally pinpointed a small, run-down shack and sank down to it. She knocked on the door thrice.
The door opened and the familiar head of white dreadlocks and wrinkled face scowled at her. She fretfully muttered the code ("jellybeans are barbaric") and barely above a whisper, said "The Legend is true."
Bushy eyebrows rose on the Old Man's face. Crystal was glad she could get him interested.
"Get in, get in, before the Light come back to brandish their weapons."
"You know about the fight?"
"Fight? Fight is a damn understatement! It's a war!"
"How did you find out?"
"I sent out Lushweed," he said, stroking the bluejay's feathers.
"To spy on them?! Lushweed could have been killed, YOU could have been found out-"
"But we weren't," the Old Man interrupted, "and she gathered valuable information. So stop being so protective."
The Old Man was Crystal's Uncle. He was a Poorer, which meant he was a Fairy born with no powers. Poorers have the unlucky feature of eternal life, which made the Old Man a miserable old lunatic. But, he was very wise.
"Now, to why I'm here," Crystal started, "I heard from the fish that the Legend is true."
The Old Man grabbed his pipe and stuck it between his brittle teeth, eyes unsure.
"Blasted fish aren't to be trusted-"
"Uncle, you know these fish! They foretold the Ice Fairy, for Fey's sake! Don't be so stubborn!"
"If the fish are stating the truth, this would mean that we could have Seers, but we wouldn't have them long."
Crystal was confused. "Why not?"
"Seers have the future at their fingertips, Crystal Dear. What do you think eventually happens to them?" He paused, as though he wanted Crystal to answer.
But he pressed on, "They either go Evil, or they go Insane."
Crystal's face contorted into sympathy after hearing this being said. She felt terrible for the future seers...
"In fact, what do you think happened to Haldon?"
Haldon was the first Fairy to appear Unique. She was a Rock Fairy. But, she eventually went missing. Nobody knew how or why.
"She probably left to become a Hermit because she knew she was losing her mind being tortured by the future."
Crystal knew what she had to do next. She bade farewell to her Uncle and burst out into the hot, humid evening air.🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹🌱🌹
