A/N - Just a little comment here. The guy above (Cameron Monaghan) is what I think Colin would look like but if you guys want to, you can imagine whatever you want.
I had never been so uncomfortable in my entire life. After a shit ton of convincing, I finally agreed to join Emma, Bae, and David at the ice cream shop. Though we would not be the only ones there. Will would be showing us what he had seen along with he-who-must-not-be-named. The whole journey there I didn't leave Bae's side but I could feel his eyes on me the whole time.
The gaze that I had once swooned under was now one that made me skin crawl. Noticing my discomfort, David subtly adjusted so that he was standing in the way of Colin's view, something that he thought I didn't notice, but I did.
When we reached the ice cream shop, Emma started to peer through the glass in the door as David rested a hand on Will's shoulder as he looked like he was about to do a runner. But with everyone else distracted by other things, that gave Colin the perfect opportunity to move over to me.
"Just like old times, isn't it? Breaking into places again," Colin sighed. Remaining silent, I watched as Emma turned to look over at Will.
"You coming into the shop, Tash?" Emma asked.
"I'd like to talk to her for a moment, please," Colin told Emma. She looked over at me and after giving her a small nod, she walked into the shop with Will and David. Bae, on the other hand hesitated and instead just stared at Colin with narrowed eyes.
"I'll be fine, Bae," I assured him.
Another moment passed before he finally nodded and walked into the shop, eyes fixed on Colin the entire time.
"Thank you for agreeing to talk to me." I said nothing. "Come on, Ames. Don't ignore me. Don't be mad with me, you would've done the same thing if you were in my situation."
"Done the same thing?" I repeated, clenching my fists to stop myself from connecting them with his face. "Done the same thing?! You left me and let me believe that you were dead."
"What more could I do? Your father wanted me dead. If I had returned he would've found me and not just killed me, but also you. I did it to protect you," Colin said.
"Bullshit. You ran for yourself. I was a fool to believe you even cared about me because you are a coward, Colin. That is why you ran. Not because of me or my father. But how did you do it? I saw him crush your heart. I watched you fall and saw you stop breathing," I reminded him, my voice breaking as I pointed an angry finger at him.
"You only saw what I wanted you to see, both of you did. I'm sorry, Amie. I really am. I knew that he was going to try and kill me when we went so before we agreed to go, I went to an old friend and he gave me a spell that would protect my heart and then he removed it and gave me another one, the one your father crushed. And maybe you're right, maybe I did run for myself but I was scared," Colin explained.
"You didn't even say goodbye," I whispered. "You could've at least let me know that you were alive and safe."
"I know. I'm sorry, Amie," Colin apologised. "But I promise you, I never stopped loving you. I still do, even now and if you'll give me a chance... I want to make it up to you. We can be happy again. Just you and me."
"You can't be serious. I have just found out that the guy I was engaged to, that I was madly in love with is actually alive. You have done shit all for me but cause me pain over the last hundred years. And now... now you want to just kiss and make up?" I accused.
"Well, if that's how you wanna do it, I won't object," Colin commented with a small smile.
"Do you want to know something really interesting, Colin?" I asked.
