Caught off guard

𝑆𝑢𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑟 𝐵𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑘

"Mr and Mrs Wright please sit." they follow the woman's command as they look at their daughter dressed in a grey jumper and black sweat pants, looking like death.

"as you know this is the part o rehab where we bring the family in." she continues "my name is Dr Noel Murdock and i am Andreas Therapist." she says in a calming voice.

they just nod holding onto one another "i hear congratulations are in order Mrs Wright-"

"their last name is different, she took my stepdads..." Andy says speaking up in a quiet croaky voice, reaching for a glass of water with a shaky hand. her parents look on with a worried expression at the shell of a person they see before them "their last name is Anderson." she adds finally

"oh , um well yes..." Andy's mom says slightly uncomfortable, she says "and thank you, we are well.." she looks to Mark but he looks just as lost

"its okay to say happy Mrs Anderson." Dr Murdock states "you are allowed to be happy."

"well i suppose the idea of having a child makes us happy but not-" Andy's mom begins but gets cut off

"can we skip to the part where you cry a bit and then i can go to bed." Andy says calmly making her mom look at her with sadness

"well what would you like to talk about Andrea?" the doctor asks

but to this all she does is shrug

"would you like to start with the beginning of the drug abuse, the reason why. or how you got the money by selling your car. the fact that you illegally did test for half of your school. or getting arrested then leaving house arrest to perform at a glee show?"

mark puts his hand up and the doctor nods "well i think its clear to say none of us in this room are idiots. i understand you got money for." he gulps slightly "drugs." and continues "what i don't understand is why it started." he brigs out a piece of paper "i found this that night." he says handing it to the doctor

"don't!" Andy stands and tries to reach over but a man no one was looking at in the corner pulls her back down "fuck." she murmurs under her breath as the doctor reads it

"ah-"

"its not what you think it is-"

"is this a suicide not Andy?" she asks

Andrea breathes sin and out calming herself down letting tears flow "yes." she says in a defeated tone.

that was the first session

walking out of therapy that day she heads to her room to find another bed in there "what the fuck?" she says

"don't yell man I'm tired." the girl says

"yeah so am i, get out my room." Andy says

"look shit head its quite obviously our room now." she says turning round to face her letting Andy see her pale completion and blue eyes "what are you, blind?"

"no, what are you, stupid?" she spits back

the girl rolls her eyes "whoa good come back, so you are going though it." she says

Andy shrugs and sits on her bed realising she cant get away form the girl

"drugs I'm guessin." the girl moves to her bed and touches Andy's face "yep, opioid's I'm guessing."

Andy swats her hand away "fuck off."

"Ooo feisty, that wont last."

"what are you here for then?" Andy asks out of curiosity
