For breakfast, I ended up making some blueberry muffins, something I had gotten used to making since my cousins always liked them. After I finished, I them all on a plate, before making Chris his own plate with two muffins on it. I set it in front of him, smiling.
"Breakfast is served!" I Said proudly. He smiled at me, clapping his hands a bit. "Thank you, sweetie."
"You're welcome." I smiled back, going over and washing my hands before coming around the counter and sitting next to him.
He looked at me confusedly.
"Aren't you going to eat?" He asked.
I thought for a moment, then took a deep breath.
"Yeah. I'll eat."
I reached over and grabbed a muffin from the plate on the counter, looking up at Chris. He smiled at me as he took a bite of his muffin, and I lifted mine up, taking a small bite from it.
As I chewed, I chuckled a little. "Not too bad, if I do say so myself."
Chris laughed a little. "They're great, sweetie."
I smiled. "Thank you.." I blushed a little.
Honestly, I still wasn't completely used to getting compliments. I always cooked for my aunt, and she never even told me she liked it once. Of course, I shouldn't be dwelling on the past anymore. I was here, with Chris. Away from my aunt. Away from my worries. And my mom, I mean, she's out of the picture. Everything would be better now.
Even though, there was one tiny thing that was on my mind.
"Hey, Dad?" I Asked, causing Chris to look over at me.
"Yeah?"
"When will you resume the tour?" I Asked. "I know you just got out of the hospital and all.."
"Oh, I'm feeling great." He smiled. "Honestly, I think we can resume in a week or two."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Isn't that a little soon?"
"I'm feeling alright, why wait?"
I couldn't believe he was even considering continuing this soon, after all he went through all that he did. Typically he was the one to think logically.
"Oh.." I mumbled, looking at my hands.
He nodded, taking a bite of his muffin. "Oh, I was wondering," he said. "Would you like to go to school?"
I swallowed, looking up at him.
I didn't know if I was quite ready for school, and if they went back on tour, it would mean I'd have to stay behind. I didn't want to be so clingy, but I also didn't want to be here alone.
He must've noticed the look in my eyes, and he nodded.
"Do you want to be homeschooled?"
"Really?" I asked him.
"If you want, of course we can do it." He smiled.
"But who will teach me?" I Asked.
His eyes lit up. "I can!" He exclaimed. "And Jonny, Guy, Will And Phil.."
"But you guys will be busy.."
"Aaliyah, we could never be too busy for you." He said. "This way, you can stay with us on tour."
I nodded, thinking for a second. Then the idea hit me.
"What If I get a tutor?" I Asked. "Someone to come with us on tour and teach me. Then I won't be taking you away from the tour."
"I mean, I would love to teach you.." he said. "But if that's what you want, we can do that."
He gave me a small smile, and I nodded.
"Can I have a bit to think about it?" I Asked.
"Of course." He said. "Take all the time you need."
"Thank you." I nodded, before looking at the time. "I'm going to go dress. But first, I'll do the dishes."
I reached for his empty plate, but he pulled it away.
I looked at him questioningly, and he smiled a little.
"You made breakfast, so I'll do the dishes." He said.
"Are you sure?" I Asked. "Are you well enough?"
He laughed a little. "I don't think doing dishes is very strenuous." He said. "But, I'll be careful."
I nodded. "Okay."
I got off of the chair, before making my way over to the stairs.
Chris's POV
As I got up to to wash our dishes, I sighed a little.
I felt ready to continue the tour. I mean, mentally, at least.
Physically, I actually wasn't doing very well.
I didn't see the point in worrying anyone about it, though. I mean, I did just have to be stitched up and all. Some pain is to be expected.
It was supposed to hurt this much, right?
I shook off the bit of pain that I was feeling, walking over and placing the dishes in the sink, turning on the faucet.
I hummed to myself as I grabbed the sponge, beginning to scrub them. I felt great for a bit, until I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach.
I dropped the dish I was holding into the sink, stepping back and gripping my stomach.
I didn't know what to do.
Deciding that I should call Aaliyah, I opened my mouth to say her name.
But Suddenly, everything around me blurred, and I felt myself fall to the floor.
