Aaliyah's POV

After about half an hour, my mom began screaming in the other room.

I heard doors slam, so I guessed the man she had over left before things could get nasty.

Suddenly, I heard her stomp over to my door.

She began rattling the doorknob.

"You selfish little brat!" She screamed. "What did you do?"

I took the chair out from under the doorknob, and she opened up the door, making her way in, and grabbing me by my hair.

"I Said, What did you do?" She Shouted.

"I didn't do anything!" I protested, and she threw me onto my bed.

"Really? Because I just got a call from a judge that your stupid father has custody!" She Shouted.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" I Said.

The doorbell went off, and she shot me a glare. "You'll Pay for this." She growled.

Chris's POV

I rang the doorbell, my head pounding in my chest.

Please, don't let her be hurt, I prayed to God, trying to steady my shaking hands.

I was scared she would be in there, injured. Or worse. Who knows what her mum could do to her.

The door opened slowly, and I looked back at the band, who were all sitting in the car, watching expectantly.

I looked back, and Evelyn was standing in the Doorway.

"What do you want, Martin?" She growled.

"I'm here for Aaliyah." I Said, looking her in the eyes.

She looked behind me, seeing the band all waiting in the car.

She looked back at me. "Make them leave." He said.

"I can't.." I started.

"Make them leave!" She interrupted. "Or Aaliyah stays."

I took a deep breath, nodding and pulling my phone out of my pocket.

I dialed Jonny's number, the turned to the car, watching him pick up his phone and answer.

He looked up at me. "What's up?"

"Jonny, I need you to go." I Said, looking him in the eyes.

"What?" He asked.

"She won't give us Aaliyah unless you leave.." he said. "I'll call you after I have her, yeah?"

He nodded. "Be careful."

"I will." I Said.

He hung up, and started up the car, driving away.

I looked back at Evelyn, shoving my phone back in my pocket.

"There." I Said. "Please, let me see Aaliyah."

"Fine." She mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest and opening the door further. "She's in her room."

I hurriedly walked past her, running into the house and looking around.

"Dad?" I heard a small voice ask.

Aaliyah's POV

I sat on my bed nervously, the door wide open.

Would Chris be coming for me?

Suddenly, I heard him run into the house, looking around frantically.

I stood. "Dad?" I Asked, my voice only coming out as a small squeak.

He looked up, his eyes beginning to fill with tears. "Aaliyah!"

He ran into my room, hugging me tightly. He buried his head in my hair.

"You're safe now.." he said.

I hugged him back, trying to keep myself from crying.

"I missed you.." I mumbled.

"I missed you, too, Aaliyah.." he said, squeezing me a bit more.

Suddenly Chris stood, looking around. "We're going to get you out of here."

He went over, grabbing my suitcase.

He came back to me, laying his hand on my back and beginning to lead me out of the room.

We made our way over to the door, but my mum stood in front of it.

"And where do you think you're going?" She Asked.

"Dad.." I whimpered.

Chris stood in front of me, dropping my suitcase and using his arms to Shield me.

"I'm taking Aaliyah home." He said. "I have full custody."

She laughed. "Honey, I didn't give a shit about the law to begin with." She Said. She pulled out a knife, holding it up. "What makes you think I'll care now?"
