Chapter 5

You woke up the next day, Shuichi by your side. You were in his bed. h a n g o n a s e c. What had happened the night before? You couldn't really remember. Either way, it didn't matter. You looked to Shuichi, who was sleeping soundly. He look so cute. As you watched him, a knock came from the door. You almost yelled for them to come in, but as you looked around the room, you remembered that this was Shuichi's dorm. The knocking came again, and this time you began to panic. You gently shook Shuichi as you tried to wake him up.

"Uhm, Shuichi? Someone's at the door... wake up," His eyes slowly opened, and locked with yours.

"Oh. Good morning, Y/N. Were you saying something?"

"Yeah, someone is at the door," As if on cue, the knocking started again, this time with a male voice accompanying it.

"Shuichi? You in there?" You instantly recognized the voice as Kokichi's. The rat continued to knock as Shuichi looked at you.

"Stay here, Y/N," You nodded as he stood up and headed for the door. You watched intently as he opened the door and greeted Kokichi.

"What do you wa-"

"Morning Shuichi baby!" He peeked below Shuichi's arm and gasped.

"My my! Were you having fun in here Shuichi?~~" Your face became hot as Kokichi waved to you. Shuichi moved his body so it blocked Kokichi's view.

"What do you want, Kokichi?"

"Kirumi made breakfast, and I was sent to fetch you and Y/N. Lucky for me, you were both in the same room. So come on sleepy head!!" Shuichi shut the door.

"Did you catch all of that?"

"Yeah. I'm ready if you are," You had only just now noticed that the both of you were completely dressed. Shuichi nodded as he walked over to you. He held out is hand and you took it, locking arms with him afterwards. Together you made your way to the dining room.

As you walked in, Kaede waved to you, a big smile on her face.

"Good Morning Y/N! And...Shuichi." Her eyes glanced you both over, and her smile slightly faltered. You could tell it was because of how you were hanging all over Shuichi. The two of you sat down.

As you happily ate, Shuichi would occasionally glance at you, as if he were making sure you were okay. Once, when Kaede looked at you, he glared at her, causing her to divert her eyes.

"Uhm Y/N. Can I talk to you?" She stood and gestured to the door that led to the hall.

"Oh sure," As you stood up, Shuichi grabbed your wrist, and looked you dead in the eyes. He looked somewhat upset.

"Please come right back, darling," You nodded and left with Kaede. Once you two were alone, she looked at you, tears in her eyes.

"Why....why do you love him. I'm way better for you, Y/N," You shrugged

"I'm sorry Kaede. I just don't like you that way," At this point she was literally sobbing.

"He....he doesn't h-have good intentions...I c-could tell from how he...grabbed you,"

"He seems just fine, Kaede. I know what's good for me. Please stop," As her shoulders heaved, she nodded and walked away. You soon followed after, return to your seat beside Shuichi.

"Did you make Kaede cry?"

"Uhm. I'm not sure, really,"

"ah. It doesn't matter. She deserves whatever happens to her," You looked to him as he began to hum a bit of a song. He had a big smile on his face. Like he didn't even care.
