MIA’S POV

It was already Saturday and the Winscott Hotel, which is where the Ballet Competition 2015 will be held, was packed with hundreds of people. It was a formal event where women were required to wear dresses and men with their suits because people who were joining the competition are the daughters of the elites, from celebrity parents to business tycoons. As much as I hate wearing dresses, I was here for my best friend, Jasmine. So I wore green shimmering fitted dress that fit to my body like a second skin, and I don’t like a hooker okay? I had a cat’s eye and that’s all. I was with Lucias, who wore black suit and had a white long sleeve underneath. He had his arms around my waist as we wait for Marc. I already saw her family walked in the room to find their seats. We were still in the lobby waiting for Marc. I kept glancing on my phone.

“Babe, we should head inside. They’re already starting” I can hear the host talking.

“Ughh noo. We have to wait for Marc”

“I know but he will just text okay? He’ll be here. Let’s go now…” I looked back and forth at the lobby entrance and the entrance door for the competition. And I sighed.

Marc you better get your fucking ass in here.

When we entered the room, the host was still talking. We were looking for our seats, we saw our names at the 3rd row while her family was in front of us. After 5 good ballerinas—which by the way looked hard to compete with—the lights were dimmed to change the set-up, then the host came back. Marc was still not here, I kept texting him and calling him but he isn’t answering back.

“And now… for our last competitor, Ms. Jasmine Daisy Moore!” I shouted Jasmines name at the top of my lungs and Lucias was doing the whistle. People were looking at us but who the fuck cares?! THAT’S MY BEST FRIEND! I kept shouting until someone ‘shh-ed’ us. I cleared my throat and sat up straight but the stupid grins in our faces couldn’t be stopped.

Jasmine came out with a smile on her face. She wore an inch after the knee dress which looked vintage kind of vibe. It was a tube heart neckline and had blue lines that was carved. She had her hair in a loose braid with floral Swarovski’s. She looked angelic!

“Ommmmggggggg” I said as I clutched Lucias arms. He had a grin in his face too. She looked for us in a discreet kind of way, when she made I contact at us, Lucias and I couldn’t help but wave energetically at her. We probably looked like lunatics, Jasmine laughed lightly but when she looked at our side, she frowned. The lights dimmed and one light focused her. Her background looked like a garden, with vines, leaves, small Christmas lights and flowers around her then the music started.

All throughout her performance, we were at awe—she always surprises us. No matter how many times I’ve see her compete and do ballet, it always amazes me how amazingly beautiful she was. Lucias and I kept on saying:

‘WOAH’
‘Wowww….’
‘Oh wow…..’
‘Shit that was good’
‘Crap! That is so cool’

The way her dress moved, we moved too. Literally! When she finished, I noticed Mrs. Cynthia Moore stood up.

Probably go to Jasmine?

While it was break time, I called Marc again.

Please let him answer, please…..  After 5 rings, I was going to end the call but I heard his voice.

“MARC!”

“Mia shut up. You don’t need to shout. And why are you calling me? You’ve got like more than 30 missed calls”
