I hear my mobile ringing. I stretch my hand forward in search of my mobile. I grab it and answer the call without opening my eyes.
''Hmm..?''
''Hey Dylan! I'm waiting for you at the airport.'' Cameron speaks.
''Hey Cam. Wait...where are you?'' I said opening my eyes in shock.
''I've arrived California and I want you to pick me up.'' He said.
''What you are in California..okay I'll reach airport as soon as possible.'' I said jumping on my bed to sit straight.
''Alright.'' He cuts the phone.
I quickly took a shower and wore a plain white t-shirt with blue washed jeans. And when I'm satisfied with my look I locked my room and got out of the hotel. I sat in the cab and rushed to the airport.
I reached airport. It took me about an hour. My eyes searched for him everywhere. My eyes fell on a guy who wore a blue T-shirt and a black leather jacket with black jeans. Cameron. My Best friend. My brother.
My parents died when I was 7 and since then Cameron's parents adopted me. We were friends before the adoption and afterwards we got close to eachother. So we are best friends. Hence, we are not biologically brothers but that did not effect our friendship. There's not a single incident or a secret that is hidden from him. I am like a open book infront of him. And I can do anything for his sake.
He comes and hugs me. ''Hey! How are you buddy?''
''I'm great what about you?'' I ask him.
''I'm fantastic!'' He says.
Oh and yeah he's a happy-go-lucky type of person. He never takes things seriously. He never lets anybody hurt him and if anybody does, he just forgets it like it was nightmare. Thats the reason he's always happy and that great smile is always plastered on his face.
We're in the cab right now. We're on the way, back to hotel.
''Dylan. I ...um forgot to tell you something.'' He says. ''Driver take a left turn.'' He directs the driver.
''But the hotel is on right.'' The driver says.
''Do as I say.'' Cameron said.
He looked at my confused face and finally spoke to me. ''We're going to stay in the house that dad recently bought here.''
''We have a house here?'' I was suprised. My eyes as big as a soccer.
''Hehe that was my reaction too when dad handed me the keys to the house.'' He laughed.
''Well...that's better because I don't want to stay in the hotel.'' I said rolling my eyes.
''Yeah...I don't wanna stay there either.''
We reached. Its a mansion. It has a big gate that leads to a fountain which is built at the centre of the roundabout. There comes that large white house which has two floors. There are small pots of flowers kept along the sides of the road. Hm...the house is beautiful. I wonder how it looks inside. Cameron opens the wooden door and the sight is amazing. This house is larger than the Chicago one's. There are sofas kept in the middle and after the sofas, there are two staircases on the either sides which leads to the second floor. There are again sofas with a large T.V in front of them. There are long curtains covering the windows and blocking the sunlight. I can see few doors in different directions. They must be bedrooms. Cameron has already entered one of them. I enter one of the rooms. Wow. This room is large. Three walls are painted light beige color except one which is colored in black. The large bed is attached to that wall. One big beautiful painting is hung just above the bed. There is a large glass door on the right side which separates the balcony from the room. I push the glass door, entered the balcony and rested my hands on the railing. I can see trees and plants. The house is situated at the centre of the garden. The sight is beautiful.
I jumped a bit when I heard knocks on the door. ''Come in.''
''The house is beautiful isn't it?'' Cameron says as he comes and stands beside, also watching the view.
''Yeah..its amazing.'' I said.
''There are pretty girls here. Did you get one by the way.'' Cameron asks with a playful smile.
''Cam. You've come here for your career. If you won't be serious, its going to harm none ...but you. The sooner you understand, the better. You're no more in Highschool, that you are going for a different girl every few months. So you better concentrate on your work.'' I said.
I'm elder than him and I have every right to guide him but I think I went a bit rude.
''Chill buddy. I was just asking.'' He raises his hands in surrender.
''I know but I was just reminding you. I mean I don't forbid you to have a girlfriend but now your big enough so you must take it seriously too.'' I said.
''You know what you are really good at changing topics.'' He said.
I know what he's talking about. Its not like I don't want to tell him but its just that he would start teasing me that too at wrong place and wrong time. He would definitely keep it as a secret but he won't stop teasing. Afterall, he's my brother and when Luke knows about it, then Cameron holds all right to know about it even. I will surely tell him but only after I confess it to Stella.
I won't confess it so soon because I'm sure as hell, she'll reject. I will give it some time and be with her just as a friend. I guess...one day or another she might to have mutual feelings. And that is the time I will say her. I don't want to lose her forever. So... I'll take it slow.
''I'm not changing topic, Cam.'' I said annoyingly.
''Oh yes you are.''
''No, I'm not'' I said bluntly.
''Anyways...even if you are interested, I know you won't hide it from me.'' He says.
I feel sorry. I know I should tell him but its not the right time. I'm sorry Cameron... I really am. But I promise, you will be the first one to know ...once she accepts.
But is that going to happen? Am I just making fool out of myself? She is not the type who is easily pleased. She needs a strong reason to trust someone and I will definitely try my best to gain her trust. But am I dreaming too much? Or asking God for too much?
Will that day come, when she's going to be with me, my entire life...ever ?
