Zhou Keung, the revered emperor of Wisteria, found solace in the care of a miraculous doctor as he battled a persistent fever, a result of a previous injury. However, even in his dreams, he could not escape the haunting memories of a profound loss. In the depths of slumber, he relived the heart-wrenching moment of losing his beloved wife once more. Vividly, he witnessed her bleeding form, desperately yearning to save her but ultimately failing. With anguish consuming him, he cried out her name, "Mingyue!" piercing the stillness of the night. Abruptly, he awakened from this nightmarish ordeal, gasping for breath, the weight of grief clinging to his awakening consciousness.

Zhou Keung, the once feared and powerful Demon King, found himself awakening in a strange place. The unfamiliar surroundings were adorned with the gentle aura of a healing sanctuary. As he opened his eyes, a sense of relief washed over him when he heard the joyful voice of a Miracle Doctor. "You have woken up! That's so good. His Majesty is worried about you," the doctor exclaimed.

Confusion clouded Zhou Keung's mind as he struggled to piece together the fragments of his memory. His title as the majestic Emperor of Wisteria and the concern shown by this doctor perplexed him. In his previous life as the Demon King, Zhou Keung had been ruthless and unforgiving, showing no signs of worry or care for anyone but himself. However, fate had brought him here, and his new circumstances began to unravel.

Observing Zhou Keung's perplexity, the Miracle Doctor, aware of the emperor's tragic past and the loss of his beloved wife, smiled gently and assured him that his sister was safe. It was a small comfort in a sea of uncertainty. Yet, the doctor's omission of any mention of Zhou Keung's fiancé did not go unnoticed.

As the words left the doctor's lips, he couldn't help but mumble under his breath, "Look how people change in the blink of an eye." Mirai, the emperor's intended bride, had been patiently waiting outside for Zhou Keung to awaken.

However, when she overheard that he hadn't even called out her name, her heart sank with disappointment. In that moment, she made a decision – she would retreat to her chambers and deny him the chance to realize the weight of his actions and potentially cancel their impending wedding.

During the first year of their marriage proposal, Tianlan, the spy sent by Zhou Keung, would diligently shadow his wife, carefully monitoring her every move upon her return from her daily lessons. However, astute and resourceful as she was, she devised clever excuses to evade his watchful eyes.

She would inform Tianlan that she had pressing research to conduct in the imperial library, using it as a means to escape his surveillance. In the tranquil ambiance of the library, she found solace and intellectual stimulation in the company of her study mate, Ning Shu.

They engaged in lengthy conversations, exchanging ideas and perspectives on a variety of topics, their discussions imbued with the joy of intellectual discovery. Tianlan, unable to report anything substantial about his wife's activities, remained unaware of these enlightening exchanges and the blossoming friendship between her and Ning Shu within the peaceful haven of the library.

Mirai approached her father early in the morning, her heart filled with determination as she revealed her desire to cancel the impending wedding with Emperor Zhou Keung. To her surprise, her father, who had never been keen on the marriage arrangement himself, readily agreed with her decision. He understood his daughter's longing for a different path in life.
