February, the month of love. The most obnoxious month to me. Thank god it's the shortest. I've never really got into Valentine's Day all of college since Anne and I broke up. I had no reason. I wasn't really in love with anyone. Or at least truly in love. I love Vicky. Or at least I thought I did because I needed someone.
Matt is picking me up since my car decided to be stupid and not start. Again. Nikky's name flashes on my screen as it buzzes on my counter. Another girl to keep my mind off Anne. I can't help it. Once I'm single, my mind flows back to wanting to be with her. But I can't.
"You picking me up eh?" She sweetly says into the speaker.
I scratch my head leaning my ear on my phone to keep it up as I pull in my pants. "Can't. My car broke down. I'm sure Matt will. Give 'em a call." I say. Not really caring to much about the situation.
She hangs up.

Matt honks his horn about 20 times before I quickly grab my bag and hit end call on my phone and fly out the door. Nikky just kept calling. Another clingy one huh.
"Sorry Nikky kept calling me." I say hopping into the back seat.
Anne turns around and asks "Nikky?"
I watch her reaction as she looks confused and a bit disgusted to her name. "oh yeah we're sorta dating now." I blurt not really knowing what to call us.
I can see her eyes roll in a utter look of being annoyed. And she faces forward again and slouches down.
"Why?" I ask enjoying her look of jealousy. I know her all to well to not know that's exactly how she's feeling right now. I know she likes me. I know it. But there's nothing I can do about it. I was told I can't date her. I'm not even supposed to be talking to her. But it's hard to do just that when I'm a family friend.
"Just asking?" She says rolling her eyes.
Matt takes off, and hands her his phone. "Text Steph, Nikky, and Theo to tell them that I'm going to be a little late." Matt says glaring at Me. I just shrug my shoulders and buckle up.

Nikky, Steph, and Theo are crammed into the back next to me. I can't help but watch Anne instead of paying attention to Nikky hugging me and kissing my cheek. It's just not right. I shouldn't be hugged up on Nikky when the girl I want is right in front of me. In the front seat.

Mrs.Anthony decided to let us cook today. We were making chicken pot pie. Anne takes off her earrings. Her cardigan that she wore almost everyday way back when. She's so beautiful. Before I noticed that I was starring at her. Her eyes lock with mine and her face lights up red, blushing and she quickly rushed to Amanda. Her new companion I see.
I can hear Ananda in the other side of the call yell. "What? OH MY GOD!" She was never good at keeping her words as you would say quiet.

I smile at Lizzy who joined us at our regular table. I don't see why Mrs. Anthony try's so hard to separate us. I will aways work with Amanda.
We started mixing the dough. Then a finger is pointed in my face "Eat it." Anne demands. She hasn't changed.
Amanda watches her with amusement and is excited to she her man up. I don't disappoint her, laughing and doing exactly what she wanted me to do sucking the dough. Licking it off. She stared at me with mouth open. I'm guessing not really expecting me to actually do it.
"Jake!" Mrs. Anthony yelped across the room. "That's not necessary!"
I turn my attention back to Anne and winked and lift my lips from her finger. "Sorry." I giggle.
What the hell. I never giggle.
She pulls her hand away. And kicks my butt as She speeds off to the sink. Why is she being so playful right now? But I smile and grab a handful of flower. And look her up and down and fling it at her fresh clean black pants. I know she'll hate this.
"JAKE!" She scream playfully.
She grabs my hand and I enjoy her touch. But before I can incorporate what's happening she shoveled a handful of flower and tossed it in my hair.
I smile a evil smile and yell" I'm gonna get you for that!"
She walks behind Amanda and said "Come get me!"
Amanda screams "DON'T GET SHIT ON ME!"
She pop her head out from Amandas back, just as I toss the handful of flower, she quickly pops her head back behind her, allowing Amanda to get a face full of flower. Manda whippers her face. And I swear, her face was redder then a white guy at the beach.
"JAAAAAAKE!" she yells
I quickly run away as Mrs. Anthony wisles very loudly, causing everyone to freeze in their tracks.
"STOP NOW." she demands.
I inches my way behing Mrs. Anthony just as Amanda tosses the flower at me, leaving Mrs. Anthony white faced, and mad.
"CLEAN UP NOW." She screaches.
Everyone Laughs and including Mrs. Anthony who has whipped her face and is now smiling
"OK, keep cleaning." she laughs.
Everyone knows Mrs. Anthony's thought it was funny. She was just showing that she's still a teacher. We cleaned up before the bell releases us to 3rd class.

I can hear Anne's voice behind me "Hey, Hey Jake! You're dating Nikky right?"
I turn around smile. "Yeah, why?" Knowing she's only asking cause she knows I was flirting with her.
She frowned and said "Oh, nothing" and I knew she felt stupid. But she wasn't alone. So did I. For doing something I'm not supposed to. I'm supposed to protect her. But yet I find myself doing the opposite. I go searching for Nikky. I should go talk to her.
