Miyuki had never really took himself for someone who'd enjoy drama/romance movies. However he could see why Sawamura would like them. He would never admit it to Eijun of course, but the catcher had begun to get slightly attached to the characters.

"Pass me a granola bar." Sawamura ordered, refusing to take his eyes off the screen.

"Please?" Miyuki sighed.

"Yes."

He reached to his right and grabbed a random bar, tossed it to the pitcher, and waited, "Thank you?"

Sawamura responded mid chew, "Yes."

"Good to know you're rude, and gross." Kazuya rolled his eyes for the (too many to count)th time and returned his eyes to the movie.

Recently, being alone with the pitcher seemed to make Miyuki feel on edge. He's felt nervous in the past. Before an important game, before exams. But this time he couldn't decide if it was actually nerves. His heartbeat didn't feel the same as those times. He didn't feel tense. And there wasn't a reason for him to be anxious in the first place.

He glanced over at Eijun who's entire being was absorbed in the film. Eyes wide with excitement, determined to know what would happen next.

"Didn't you say you've already watched this?"

"Yeah but it's even better the second time." The second year responded.

Miyuki hummed, "Ok, and why's that?"

Sawamura took a second to think, finally putting aside some attention for the catcher, "You can notice things you didn't see the first time, and you realize some of the lines the characters say are more important than you first thought."

Miyuki blinked. He's more observant than I thought. I guess he's right though. It's similar to the reason we rewatch videos of our games. He thought.

"Yeah you're right."

An hour into the movie, and Miyuki started to feel a bit bored. In the end, drama/romance really wasn't his favorite. Even when things got emotional, he just couldn't get himself to relate.

"You're heartless Miyuki Kazuya!" Sawamura cried... quite literally.

"Nah you're just a crybaby." Miyuki smirked, hoping he could keep himself entertained with the pitcher.

"I'm most definitely not!" He yelled, wiping his cover over his face.

"Of course, my bad. You're not crying, I just need to get my eyes checked." Kazuya closed his eyes and stretched his arms out. When he opened his eyes, he was disappointed to see Sawamura's attention was back on the screen in front of them. His gaze lingered on the boy, finding him more interesting than the movie.

Eijun's pupils would shrink when the screen brightened, and dilate when the screen went black. His fingers curled around the fabric of the comforter, squeezing it closer to his chest as his lips curved into a small frown. He slowly leaned towards the screen, and placed his right hand on the carpeted floor for balance.

As if instinctively, Miyuki's own hand inched closer to the pitcher's. The surrounding air was tense. Sawamura was absorbed in the scene, and Miyuki was absorbed in Sawamura.

(AN- Cheesy, I know)

Just a centimeter or two more. Miyuki felt a strange sense of desperation. Mesmerized and curious from his own actions, the idea that it wasn't too late to back out didn't even cross his mind. The tip of his pinky brushed softly across Eijun's. His heart raced.

"NO YOU IDIOT CAN'T YOU SEE SHE LIKE YOU!!" Sawamura shot to his feet and pointed accusingly at the character. Kazuya jumped back from the unexpected screech.

"Holy shit! Don't just scream out of nowhere like that, jeez!" The spooked catcher hunched over, breathing heavily.

There goes your chance, dumbass. Said a sly voice in the back of Miyuki's head.

Shut up! What are you even talking about? His conscience hissed back.

Miyuki's internal argument was interrupted by Sawamura collapsing back to the floor.

"They've known each other for years and he has the auditory to le-"

"Audacity."

"The audacity to leave her for a girl he just met!" Sawamura huffed and picked up his cover. Which had been tossed during his rampage.

Miyuki diverted his attention to the movie. He watched as the childhood friend grabbed the main character's sleeve before he could walk too far. As she shut her eyes and awkwardly confessed her undying love to the oblivious boy.

"I can't believe you actually enjoy these cliché stories." Miyuki sighed, trying to come up with ways to poke fun at the sniffling boy beside him. But before he could say anything, Kazuya felt something nuzzle gently into his shoulder. Soft hair brushed across his neck, sending a shiver from the top of his spine down to his heart. The catcher swallowed hard.

How can he be this forward after yesterday's embarrassment? Miyuki thought, only looking at the boy from the corner of his eye.

Right... The competition.
