Maeve's Point of View
*trigger warning*
(apologizing in advance sorry guys)I turned the corner to see the small black door waiting for my arrival. My punishment room only appeared when father summoned it, so it couldn't be seen by anyone but us. Footsteps suddenly became so much harder to take and my feet felt as if they were melting into the floor. One after another step by step, I reach the door.
I can't do this.
Reaching for the handle I see it's glowing red, meaning this is going to be bad. The handle shows fathers mood, and I think I have only seen red once before. Last time I did, I stayed in the punishment room for three days.
School is Monday though, hopefully he doesn't risk anyone seeing my marks. Surely he wouldn't do that...right?
It's not like I was allowed to use a healing charm, Father made sure to check my wands history after a beating to make sure I was not healing myself. I deserved to feel all the pain he inflicts. I am a bad daughter. I deserve this.
I take my seat in the middle of the room, just waiting to hear his heavy footsteps approach the door.
Pitch black darkness is all I can see around me, I'm not allowed to turn the lights on when I am in here. Usually, Father puts a blindfold on me during punishment so he can turn the lights on and see what he will be using that day.
Not even 5 minutes later, I hear the clanks of his boots slowly but surely making their way towards me.
"Maeve, you deserve this."
"You are a bad daughter."
"You need to listen."
"Your attitude is unacceptable."
"I am disappointed in you."
"You are a disappointment to all witches."
"Your mother hates you, can't even look in your eyes."
"No one will ever love you."
"I don't love you."
"You are ugly."
"You are worthless."
"We would be better off without you."
All of these words rang through my ears as Father took out his anger.
He put on the blindfold once more, and just started kicking and punching me as much as he possibly could.
I could hear him saying all of those hurtful things, he almost started to trip over his words he was talking so fast. Father was so disappointed in me. I was nothing like the daughter he thought I would be. I would never be what he wanted me to be. I am worthless. I am nothing.
"You are so fat."
"You are stupid."
"You are my biggest disappointment."
"I hate you."
"I wish you would run away."
"I wish you would've never been born."
"All you do is burden us."
"I hate you Maeve Lorelei Monroe."
He had never used my full name before, but I guess he means he really meant it. My father hated my guts, with every fiber of his being. That time was with a belt, my least favorite.
The metal against my skin felt like fire.
I wasn't numb from this punishment, I felt every single blow and every single whip from his belt.
