you stood hopelessly in front of the villains that had attacked you. there was no way you were going to make it, you and kirishima weren't strong enough to take on so many skilled fighters.
he had notified the pro heroes but you were in the middle of nowhere, falling through a portal made by kurogiri was not fun.
you focused on your hands as you brought them up towards the sky, generating a huge dark cloud above you. the was no time to waste, you had to fight until someone came for you.
kirishima lunged at the nearest villain who was already preparing for an attack, you took this as your queue and aimed the thunder and lightning towards a group of shadow-like beings. they were quick to jump out of the way, some of them disappeared and reappeared as the bolts of lighting branched out far and wide.
you used your other hand to position the wind behind you so no one could catch you off guard. unfortunately lightning wasn't effective against quirks like damage absorption or opacity, soon enough many villains were rushing at you.
you panicked and propelled yourself into the air with the help of wind, using the moment to glance at your boyfriend, kirishima. he was trying his best to keep a distance from everyone since he knew he couldn't win against all of them at once, but it was quite hard.
landing with a thump, you hit the ground and summoned a small tsunami, there wasn't much time or water nearby so it was just a few meters tall. it successfully washed away some villains so they were further, but you forgot to protect your back.
a loud yell caused you to turn around in an instant only to see that kiri was restraining a large beast who was about to tear you apart.
"kirishima! we need to run! we have no chance!" you shouted, helping him fight.
"we can't run, were surrounded, there's too many!" he responded, panic and sadness in his voice.
he was right, everywhere you looked someone was running towards you, no villian would leave out the chance to kill two helpless pro heroes.
your quirks weren't strong enough to escape or stay alive for so much longer, you both knew this. there was only one way to get rid of the mess that was around you.
you looked at kirishima, the person you loved most. you wanted his approval, his eyes told you all you needed to know. people say heroes should never give up, they will always win but that wasn't true. there were times when giving up was the best option. you didn't think it was giving up though, it was a sacrifice. you could save so many people.
his face showed no fear, he nodded and prepared for your final attack. you took a deep breath and concentrated on the core of the earth, it took an immense amount of energy, but you managed to grasp onto your power.
the ground began to shake slowly, speeding up with every passing second. it was almost done. you suddenly openeded your eyes. the exact same moment, the ground below you tore apart violently, stretching long into the distance and swallowing everything whole.
you released and immediately started falling. you felt someone grab your hand and you used all your energy to turn your head and look at the love of your life.
"kirishima... i love you..." you whispered, tears gathering in your slowly closing eyes.
"i love you too." he replied without hesitating.
as you fell deeper you couldn't help but think of your life. you remembered your loving parents, who had died shortly before you became a hero. you remembered how kirishima was there to help you through it all, he was th reason you continued going and eventually achieved your dream. all those times you fought side by side, you didn't regret any of it. you were so glad that he was always there for you.
although you wished you could have had a normal life, you wished you could have had a family with him. you wanted to see your children grow up and be proud of them, but you would never get the chance.
kirishima held you close and shut his eyes, if he could have changed one thing, he wouldn't have let you come with him on this mission. he partly blamed himself for the outcome. he loved you so much, he wanted you to live the best life anyone could ever have, he wanted to make you happy and spend the rest of your lives together.
in the end, you bother died fighting beside each other.
you knew the moment you fell through the portal. there was no chance.
we were never going to make it.
wow this was kinda cringe.
