David pulled his green armchair closer to his desk, gesturing for Daniel to sit on it while he plopped himself down onto his office chair.

Then he jumped back up, "Oh gosh! I'm being so rude. Would you like something to drink? We don't have much, but there's water, coffee, tea, kool-"

The blonde cut him off with a smile, "I'll just have a glass of water, thank you."

"Good choice! Water is the healthiest option, after all!" David enthused as he collected two cups and filled them with water at his bathroom sink. He placed one cup in front of Daniel and one in front of the seat where he sat down. He leaned forward, crossing his legs and getting comfortable. He grinned at the man before him.

"It's so good to meet you, Daniel! This place has been pretty hectic with just one adult around so I'm really excited for you to join us! So..." he gestured his hand to the blonde, "tell me about yourself."

Daniel quirked his head to the side, smile almost as wide as David's. "Gosh, where would you like me to begin? How about my resume?"

David laughed, slapping his boot, "Oh, that's not necessary at all! I know Mr. Campbell only sends his best. I'm sure you're 101% qualified for the job!"

Daniel raised an eyebrow, but nodded in agreement. "Yes, I have plenty experience counselling children."

David jumped up, "You do!? Oh, thank goodness! I have no idea what I'm doing with these kids! I try and I try and I try again, but they just don't seem to respond positively. There's this one kid, Max. Now he's a handful, but I can tell he has a lot of potential. He just needs a push in the right direction, but I feel like he just doesn't want to open himself up to anything! I suppose it's because-" He paused. He was babbling again. He sat back down and apologised sheepishly, ruffling his hair as a bit of comfort.

The man in front of him waved a dismissive hand, "Oh don't worry about it, David. It's quite refreshing to interact with someone as energetic as you are." He smiled and took a sip of his water, "Say, how many kids are at this camp? There don't seem to be a lot."

"There are 8 campers at the moment, but 2 will be joining us today. Don't be fooled by their numbers though, they are incredibly creative and energetic to boot!"

The blonde nodded in understanding, eyes shifting over David's injured form. Suddenly David jumped up again and started rummaging through his closet. After a minute of searching, he pulled out a spare counsellor's outfit –minus the yellow ascot and vest– and handed it over to Daniel. He sat down again, smiling at him.

"That's the uniform we have to wear. Unfortunately, it's mandatory, but they're quite comfortable. Heck, I practically sleep in them!" He was starting to grow parched from all the rambling. He gulped his water down. Hmm, did it always have that weird after-taste? He'd probably have to take a look at the pipes.

Daniel eyed the clothing, mouth twitching into a slight grimace. "I don't enjoy wearing shorts. May I wear my pants instead?" He asked, looking up at him.

David examined the blonde's sleeked back hair and outfit. It was all white, not really recommended for the outdoors, but he supposed Daniel was just a bit eccentric. "Why of course you can, Daniel! It's really just the shirt that's important."

"Wonderful."

There was a brief moment of silence between them and David took this time to really soak up what he was looking at. He leaned forward a bit, causing the office chair to creak under the shifting weight.

"So, uh... what department are you from? I don't think I've ever seen you around the station before and it would be just terrible if you've been there all along and I never brought you a Monday cupcake!"
