Chapter 27: The Memories still lingered

???: You always had the power to change the world from the very start, why did you let it all go to waste I wonder?...

Luna: Why are you speaking to my mom like that sir!? What did she ever do to you!?

???: Shut up kid, you never even knew your mom. She destroyed all her potential and now look, waisted like dirt, her parents were right, she only brought disgrace to the family...

Luna: No... please don't say that... You don't know anything...

???: The one who doesn't know anything, is you...

Luna: Stop it!!!

"Hey, it's okay, I'm here little one"

Luna: Who? Who are you!?

"Well of course, don't you remember me!? I'm aunt Virna!"

Luna: Aunt, Virna!?

Virna: Yeah... I'm here to protect you from those scary people!

???: Scary people you say? You're the reason she failed, you're going to destroy this one's potential too?

Virna: Don't you say that about me or my nephew. I didn't even talk with Lorena.

???: Keep selling yourself as the hero. I'm done here.

Virna: Don't you ever lay a finger on my family again.

Luna: Virna, You saved me yet again!

Virna: Of course sweetie! Your mom entrusted you to me all those years ago! And now, I will forever protect you!

Luna: Aunt... Vir...na...

Suddenly Luna wakes up from a dream as she looks around the room confused and scared, it's dark, she stood up from her bed only to find the kitchen light turned on, she slowly walked towards the kitchen and started to listen

Samael: I'm sorry Marney, I really can't do much right now... I really don't want Luna to see us like this, but seeing her is just so unbearable... I love my little girl but... Lorena...

Samael talked on the phone with Marney, as he cried and aggressively rubbed his eyes

Luna: Da...dad?

Luna whispered as Samael kept talking

Samael: Just for tomorrow... I'll find someone else, maybe Rayne or something, I really need to rest... I haven't slept in so long...

Samael sat down at the kitchen table, exhausted, from his phone a sigh could be heard followed by an "okay", in that same second Samael started to cry even more

Samael: Marney I'm so sorry... Please forgive me...

From his phone cries could be heard as a very broken voice said "please don't worry... We need to work together, for her..."

Samael: I'll talk to you later Marn, I should check up on Luna

Samael ended the call and placed the phone on the table, he grabbed a glass of water and sprayed it over his face, he then lowered his face and with his hands clenched his face

Samael: I need to keep myself together, for Luna...

He stands up and in that exact second Luna quietly ran into her room and pretended to be asleep

Samael: Maybe I should've listened to Clarice...

Samael walked towards Luna's room and quietly opened the door

Samael: Looks like my little angel is sleeping soundly, I should try resting too, good night Luna

Samael leaves the room and goes to his, as Luna starts to over think and cry
