Draco's Pov"For fucks sake that took forever," Blaise exclaimed once he and I stepped into the Head common room.
I smirked and shut the door behind me, completely unaware of the two sets of eyes watching us from the couch.
All around us, the smell of Lavender with small traces of chocolate took over the room. I noticed it on the way up to the door, but I didn't think it was fresh.
The room seemed deserted, and if not for our veela senses, I don't think we would have even noticed the two girls sitting down on the couch Blaise and I were interested in claiming for ourselves.
He groaned and looked over his shoulder at me. His eyes were filled with annoyance.
I could literally feel my body beginning to shut down on me out of pure exhaustion.
We'll just head upstairs.
Blaise nodded. I can sleep for days at this point.
The room was filled with moonlight and it was freezing cold. My eyes met the gaze of Granger's brown eyes.
There was something wrong.
I could feel pain and fear in my chest. Something that I didn't have until I walked into the room. Blaise must have noticed the same because we both had stopped our progress towards the staircase and looked over at each other.
Can you feel her emotions too?
He sighed and nodded, looking over my shoulder back towards the couch in front of the fireplace.
I turned and followed his gaze. Granger and Weaslette were sitting close together and watching us as we stopped in our tracks. Her eyes were filled with worry and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shove down the new feeling that had begun to form.
I hope I don't regret this.
My feet began to move and I made my way across the room. Blaise followed behind, sitting beside me on the opposite couch facing the two Gryffindors.
They both shifted in their seats and glanced at each other. The feeling of uncertainty was now echoing inside my chest.
Blaise sighed as he sat back on the couch. It's going to be hard getting used to this.
I licked my lips and looked over at the lifeless fireplace beside us. This was the first time it wasn't lit and it felt strange.
The common room had always felt like an old study: comfortable and organized. Now it was cold and bare. Much like the manor was when the dark lord inhabited it.
I hated that feeling.
With a wave of my wand, a small spark of fire shot out and ignited the pile of wood. Illuminating the room in the gentle glow I was used to seeing.
