Another summer that my mom sends me to theatre camp. I really hoped that this year I didn't have to be alone, last year nobody wanted to script my parts. I got put as a lead role, but nobody wanted to dance with me. I did it alone and for the whole rest of the summer the girls wouldn't leave me alone for it. I feel like the same thing is going to happen this year.
"Can I sit here?" A tall girl with beautiful purple hair asked me as I sat alone. Again. "Yeah- uh I can move my backpack-" I stuttered. I wasn't used to somebody actually wanted to sit by me. She nodded her head and sat by me. I looked at her and she looked at me, and I knew that she wouldn't have any friends either. We sat there for about 10 minutes until she broke the silence and lifted her head, "Have you been to theatre camp before?" I was silent. I was paying attention to her leather jacket with band patches on it. I saw a big 'M' spray-painted on the back of it. "Hello?" I stopped zoning out and replied to her "Yes, my mom sent me for the first time last year. It was hell, nobody did the part and danced with me." She started to laugh. Why would she laugh? "heh- sorry. I had nobody to part with me either!" We both laughed awkwardly and looked away. I was looking out the window noticing the snow on the side of the road start to appear. Camp was in the mountains, it was a big campsite with about 10 cabins. The theatre was next to the cabins, and then the lake. The lake was behind the forest, it is so fun to walk there. I quit zoning out (AGAIN) and looked back at her seeing she was already looking at me. "I'm Minx." We both smiled and I said "I'm Puffy!" she gave me a smile and looked back at the isle.
"STUDENTS, I WILL CALL YOUR NAME AND YOUR CABINMATES. REMAIN SILENT."
Minx and I both looked at each other hoping that we can be together. Minx grabbed her backpack and put it on her lap. I looked out the window waiting for them to call out names to get off the bus. It was beautiful outside. Big snowy mountains, and as I looked at the horizon, I saw the big lake. The big orange sunset made the water look purple. "Pretty, don't you think?" Minx said behind me. I nodded and smiled. But then, I heard her name being called. Seconds later, I didn't hear my name with hers. She got put with the popular girls. Minx's face looked crushed. She got her bags and looked at me. I wanted to wave, but by the time I lifted my hand she was gone.
