It's been a week since my first night here, and all I can really say is it doesn't suck like I thought it would. The guys are actually really sweet and chill. They've been acting strange though. Connor has too - I know he's hiding something. I've seen him act like that before. He acted like that before he told me he knew I had cut myself.
"Hey baby.." I heard a slurred voice say behind me. Alcohol quickly filled my room. Damn it.
I turned around to find a drunken Ricky standing in the doorway. I gasped as I saw his hair. Instead of being the brown I was starting to get used to, it was now purple and blue.
"Nice hair." Was all I could get out.
"Thanks," he slurred again. There was no doubt in my mind that he was drunk.
I quietly laughed at him before attempting to walk out of my room. I wasn't really comfortable with being in a room with someone who was drunk.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I heard before turning around to find Ricky less than 6 inches away from me.
"Uh, sure." I chuckled.
It took him a while to say something. He kinda just looked at me for a while before a slight smile came onto his face, but then it quickly disappeared.
"You know that you're amazing, right? That's coming from someone who barely knows you too."
My face went red before I quickly headed off and made my way downstairs. I found the rest of the guys sitting on the couch. None of them were drinking. Did they know Ricky was drunk.
"Hey.." I said quietly hoping to get the attention from one of them.
Jc turned and looked up at me, causing the others to look and smile. I smiled back and went to sit next to Connor.
"Hey, Zoe. How are you?" He smiled gratefully at me which I returned slightly.
"Good. But, you know how I feel about alcohol, Con. Why is Ricky drinking? I mean it's not like you guys can't drink when you want because it is your house but you know I-" he cut me off by shoving his hand on my face.
"I'll tell him to keep it limited and you can go and stay in your room. Text me if you need something." He smiled kindly at me.
I forced a smile and nodded my head before the two of us headed up stairs. Ricky was standing at the end of the hallway, looking out the window.
"Hey, Ricky," Connor said to get Ricky to look over. "Zoe's gonna be in her room. She isn't feeling well. You mind coming downstairs?"
Ricky looked a little hurt by Connors words. He looked from me to Connor and nodded his head. "Yeah, sure."
He hurried past the two of us and rushed down the stairs. Connor sighed and looked to me before smiling and bringing me into a tight hug. I hugged him back.
"Well I'll leave you alone. Go ahead and watch some movies and I'll come up here to tell you when Ricky's asleep so you can come back down stairs. Or you could always remain in your room. Doesn't matter." He pulled away and headed down the stairs.
"Wait, Connor?" Should I tell him?
He turned back and smiled at me. Fuck. I couldn't do it.
"Yeah?"
"I, just wanted to tell you that I love you."
"I love you too, Zoe."
I hurried into my room and locked the door. I slid down the door and quietly sobbed. Why couldn't I have just come clean and told him? I'm so pathetic. Maybe I should... No. No he would be pissed. He would be hurt. I can't do it to him.
"Oh my god." I whispered before forcing myself to change into pajamas and slipping into bed. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. At least now I could escape the hell that is reality. At least for a little while.
