Chapter Three: New Home
I woke up to shuffling and a string of unfamiliar voices. I thought Connor was suppose to be the only one in here? I kept my eyes closed and listened carefully to their conversation.
"She looks so peaceful."
"Yeah, she really does."
"Why would she ever want to do that to herself?"
"I-I don't know. It's all my fault. I should of been there for her when she needed me."
Connor.
Why would he think it's his fault? It's mine if anything. I was the one who took the blade. I was the one who decided to try to attempt to kill myself. It was my fault. Just like everything else.
"Wait I think she's waking up."
I knew I didn't have a choice but to act like tent had woken me up. My eyes fluttered open and I sat up slowly, rubbing my eyes and looking around my room at Connor and five unknown faces.
My eyes met Connors. My heart stopped as I noticed he had been crying.
"Con..." My voice cracked to where I couldn't finish his name.
"Zoe, why?" Was all he asked as he came over and sat next to me on the bed, taking my hands into his.
I looked down as tears formed into my eyes. I wasn't comfortable about talking to Connor about this - nonetheless when there are more people in the room.
I pulled my hands back and forced a smile on my face. "Who are your friends?" I changed the subject to something a little less depressing.
"I'm Sam." A boy with red cheeks introduced. I smiled and waved at him.
"I'm Jc. It's a pleasure to meet you." The boy with curly hair grabbed my hand and kissed it. I blushed and chuckled.
"Wassup pretty lady. I'm Trevor and I'm telling you this now - I will be your favorite." A younger boy winked making me laugh. He was definitely the youngest.
"We'll see." I replied, winking back.
I looked next to him. There stood a boy with short, light brown hair in a quiff form smiled at me.
"I'm Ricky. It's great to finally meet you. From what Connors said about you, you're definitely going to fit in." He smiled a stunning smile.
He was very attractive. Not that the others weren't, but there was something about him. I just couldn't tell what.
Finally, a boy with blonde hair smiled and waved at me before speaking. "I'm Kian. It's gonna be great liv-" he was cut off by Connor coughing. I looked at Connor confused. What was he hiding.
I watched as Connor glanced to everyone before they all 'ahh'ed. What the hell was going on?
"Well, Zoe, since your parents went on vacation and won't be back for a couple of months-" I cut Con off.
"Months!? I thought it was a simple vacation!?" I practically screamed, making Connors facial expression change from excited to scared.
"I'm sorry Con... I haven't really had the best weekend." I sighed and sent him a sincere smile which he gladly returned.
"It's cool. I'll explain that later. Point is, you're gonna be living with us until your parents get back." Connor smiled widely.
I was gonna be living with six guys? Five of which I barely knew? Who came up with this idea?
I was too ashamed to say that out loud, so I simply forced a smile back as all the guys cheered quietly, slightly making me feel bad for not being into the idea.
"'Living with us will be great.' That's what I was trying to say earlier." Kian continued, causing me to stifle a small laugh.
I looked at Connor and he smiled at me. Connor Franta, what have you gotten me into?
