The Return

Chapter 25

"Hey, I'll be heading out. I have classes." I said as I was about to quickly leave without making eye contact with anyone. I got to find Jayden.

"But its Saturday?" Selena said. Gosh this girl!

"Uh yeah. I-I- I... have a uhmm... makeup test." I said quickly leaving, they all looked confused as I left.

"Hey wait up!" Kaitlyn said as she came next to me.

"You're coming with me?" I asked.

"Yeah. I couldn't quite stay there after what my mother did." She said as we left down the elevator.

"Hey. My grandparents and father was also involved. But whatever they did was their fault, not ours." I said and she smiled.

"I hope you're right." Kaitlyn said as we both left the elevator and into my car again.

"So where we going?" I asked her as I started driving.

"How about we make a surprise visit to our friend? I could really use his energy." I said.

"Why would we visit Jayden?" I asked her.

"Since when did I mention his name?" She said smirking and I playfully hit her arm.

"Hey!" I said.

"What?!! Just admit it! You like him to. So why don't you give him a shot?" She asked twisting her body to face me.

"Because... I don't know what you're talking about." I said. I can feel my face blushing as I hear Kaitlyn laughing.

"Fine prove you don't like him then. Lets go meet him." She said.

"Fine. Then I will!" I said smiling. Kaitlyn continuously teasing me through the entire trip.

After waiting for a while at Winky Dinky, Jayden finally showed.

"Hey Katie and Katie's friend." He said sitting down across from us. I rolled my eyes but then I remembered the last time I met Jayden, I have given him a goodbye kiss or what was supposed to be one. Shit!

"Hey Jayden." Kaitlyn greeted.

"So no hello?" Jayden asked looking at me.

"What?! Oh uhmm hi." I said quickly looking at the menu.

"Ronnie?" Jayden called me.

"What? I'm busy looking through the menu." I said.

"Princess, you might find something delicious if you read it the right side." He said taking the menu and flipping it the right side. All this time it was upside down.

"I read it how I want to." I said causing both him and Kaitlyn to laugh.

"Are you okay?" Kaitlyn asked.

"Yeah. I'm gonna order the foods!" I said quickly getting up and heading to order.

"Two vegetarian sandwiches and one chicken, also two chocolate and one strawberry milkshake please." I said and the lady smile.

"Sure." She said.

"Add some french fries with that and for dessert some cookies and cream icecream." Jayden said from behind me which made me flinch. The lady looked at us before nodding with a smile.

"Thirty dollars and ninety five cents." She said. As I was about to get my money, Jayden pulled out a one hundred dollar and paid.

"Your order will be up soon. Please take a seat." She said with a smile before handing Jayden his change.

"Oh no. Keep the change." He said and I looked at him confused with a smile.

"Thank you." She said with a smile before we left.

"We need to speak." He whispered to my ear. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out the room.

"Hey!" I said as I saw Kaitlyn was busy on her phone, she probably wouldn't even notice we're gone.

He pulled me into some storage room.

"How did you know this room?" I asked.

"Please, I technically grew up here." He said and raised my eyebrow with a satisfying smile.

"Okay. So you wanted to talk so now talk." I said.

"I like you, no, I'm in love with you." He said. Like he just said it, straightforward.

"Wha-" I started but he cut me off.

"Wasn't it obvious enough? I can't wait long, I mean I don't want to wait any longer for you." He said.

"Jayden I-" He then cut me off again.

"Tell me you don't feel the same way." He said.

"What if i don't?" I asked.

"Then I'll stop trying and wait until you move on first, with someone new." He said.

"And what if I do?" I said looking at him directly in his eyes.

"Then I'd kiss you right now." He said.

"So what are you waiting for?" I asked him as he leaned in and we both kissed. Until reality hit us.

"Kaitlyn's back there." I said.

"Let's go." He said and I nodded. As I was about to walk out he grabbed my hand.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me. I smiled before turning around.

"What do you think?" I asked him before leaving with a smile.

"So its a yes?!" He asked and I laughed.

As I walked out, I saw Kaitlyn there, she's still in her phone.

"Katie!" I said and she flinch dropping her phone.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked confused. Why's she so jumpy?

"Oh nothing." She said immediately picking up her phone and turning it off.

"Something wrong?" I asked her.

"No. Just, the usual." She said.

"If its about your mom, then I promise you, that you'll be fine. I'm here with you." I said holding her hand and she smiled.

"Hey girls!" Jayden said sitting on the seat he was in before. I smiled at him in which he returned. Kaitlyn however seemed to have to lost her smile

Did something happened? Did Black Masked strike again?
