"Please, Mum!" I pleaded. "It's just for a month. Don't I deserve this after such a long and stressful school year? I promise to speak to you every—um—as many times as I'm able to!"

Mum lifted a brow. "Well your promise doesn't sound very promising, Terr."

"I'll go. I can watch over her."

My blood boiled at the sound of the familiar voice and the obvious smirk on his face even though I hadn't even glimpsed at him yet. I slowly turned my head towards him and burned holes into his forehead as he nonchalantly sipped on his soup.

"Well that's a great idea!" My mother beamed. "You two can stick together. Keep each other alive and not run into horrible monsters."

"Exactly," said Caylus. "Don't worry, Mum. She won't do anything reckless under my watch."

"Oh please!" I scoffed. "Just because you don't have any friends of your own to spend the summer with, you're gonna come and sabotage my trip while hitting on my friends?"

"You what?" Mum's full attention was on Caylus now and it was finally my turn to smirk.

"She's wrong, Mum!"

"Am not. Everyone in the entire world knows how you have a gigantic crush on Ruhi. It's no secret so therefore you are staying out of my trip. Go on your own one. Find some friends, maybe if you socialized and actually had a life, you'd have some."

"I do." He gritted his teeth.

"Who? Your annoying idiotic friends you made off the Quidditch Pitch? The same ones who went behind your back and slept with your past-"

His hand slammed against the table.

"Alright that's enough! Both of you," my mother snapped. "Terra, you'll only be allowed to attend this trip if your brother goes with you. Caylus, if you put one toe out of line, and you know exactly what I mean, then no Quidditch and no broom until next year."

Caylus straightened. Quidditch was basically his life and also his ambition. I knew Mum wouldn't ever spring such a punishment on him that would affect his future career but Caylus was a bit slow and gullible.

Me? I still wasn't happy. "Why does he have to come, Mum?" I practically pleaded. My voice came out whiney but at this point I didn't even care how child-like I sounded. My trip was being sabotaged by my irritating brother and I seriously just needed the space.

"You'd like to see Europe too, don't you, Caylus?"

"Of course." He grinned at Mum then at me. I simply glowered in reply.

"Perfect. You can bring a friend as well to keep you company."

............

2 months and approximately 15 and a half hours later since that discussion, the 5 of us stood outside in the warm weather of late May, searching the pile of debris for the Port Key.

Our newest addition to the group, Felix Valerio, was a round-shaped, brunette haired boy who was my brother's best friend. He had a knack for pranks in school and never getting caught for them. He was sly, kind of absent minded and...a little chubby.

Ruhi had already struck up a conversation with him as Caylus and I aimlessly searched the place for the Port Key.

"What if it doesn't work?" whispered Iris.

"What if what doesn't work?"

"The Port Key. You know, because I'm a No-Maj. Maybe we should've flown."

"You're being ridiculous." I chuckled at her paranoia. "Just because you can't do magic, doesn't mean I can't include you in mine."

"What about that thing you once told me though?" There was a look of fear swimming in her eyes.

"What thing?"

"The one about your limbs falling off or—or leaving half your clothes behind when you..."

"You mean getting splinched?" I nearly died with laughter. "Iris, we're not Apparating, we're traveling by Port Key. It's a little costly, but less dangerous than Apparating. Trust me." I brushed her blonde hair to the side and gave her a reassuring grin.

"Okay, well as long as my arms and legs remains intact..."

"Found it!" Caylus shouted from what seemed like a few yards away from us. He was holding a bright silver hand mirror with his handkerchief.

Wait...handkerchief? Seriously?

We rushed over just as he set it back on the ground.

"Okay, on the count of 3, we're going to touch it. Britton, I advise you to hold my sister's hand."

Iris provided him with a frightened nod before she clutched my hand, nearly squeezing my bones to a fracture.

Soon enough, the world began to spin, as did we, including Iris who was screaming her head off. Beside me, Ruhi shouted with exhilaration just as my vision went blurry. My legs floated in the air, hand barely hanging onto the mirror as we traveled.

Then before we knew it, we were lain gently on a grassy area in London.

We'd made it. We had finally made it.

"Blimey," Caylus chirped from beside me as he stood up and dusted himself off. "As Mum says."

"We should probably call a cab," said Iris who was still sitting on the ground catching her breath and dizzy with nausea. "I might need to vomit first though."

"You good, Terr?" Ruhi glanced at me with that worrisome expression of hers. The one that told me she could read my face for discomfort.

I shrugged, eyeing the empty area and breathing in the sunshine. "It's kinda cold." And I also have a sudden weird feeling about this place but I'm not gonna say that out loud.

Ruhi slung her arm around my shoulder then began stalking forward while swinging her bag in sync with our steps. "This is going to be the best month ever. No stress, no shitty Ilvermorny boys. Only hot European dudes and-"

"So sorry to interrupt," Caylus jumped in sharply. "But our ride is close by." He was scowling hard to say something as simple as that.

"Our ride?" I cocked my head at Caylus who simply nodded at the road then trailed his gaze up to the air.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "What. Did you do?"

"Holy shit! Is that a flying car?" Felix yelled.
