-Terra-"Mom, I'm fine. I promise!" She was going on and on again about taking care of myself and eating on time and getting over eight hours of sleep.
"Okay but I can just hear it in your voice, I know you lost a few pounds."
"You're being ridiculous." If anything I'd gained a few with all the sweets I'd been eating. But she didn't need to know that.
"When are you coming home? I miss you two. The house has been too quiet without my babies."
"1 week," I said with a sigh. I'd been trying to not think about the fact that I was leaving soon. None of the others had mentioned it either except for Felix. "You know, Hogwarts is insane."
"So you visited?"
I stuttered. "Well, no." My heart pounded as I scraped my brain for an excuse. "But Ruhi met this boy who goes to Hogwarts and so he invited all of us to his little brother's graduation. There were French wizards in attendance too."
"Ah, Beauxbaton?"
"Yes, them!"
"Is that Mom?" Caylus rounded the corner and snatched the telephone from my hand. "Mommy, I miss you." I blew a raspberry at him and retreated back to the table where everyone was sitting for dinner.
Draco's hand returned to my knee and at once my tension was relieved. "What brings you lot here anyways?" I must've walked in mid conversation.
"Miss Terra over here wanted to go," said Felix. "Caylus and I are just chaperoning."
Draco raised a brow while Ruhi and Iris shot Felix the deadliest glares. "You? Chaperoning?" Ruhi barked out in laughter. She continued to laugh, unable to finish her sentence as Draco bounced his eyes from Ruhi to Felix who sat there completely flushed. A small part of me felt bad for him but then it dissipated just as quickly.
"What she means to say is that I wanted to go but Mom made Caylus tag along with me for moral support. She's quite a paranoid mother."
"So what did you use? A port key?" His eyes flew to Iris. "With the muggle?"
"What's a muggle?" asked Iris.
"A no-maj," answered Felix in an incredibly annoying 'duh' tone, trying to redeem himself from his humiliation two seconds earlier I believe. Caylus returned and settled into his seat again as he began digging into his food. "And yes, we came with her."
"What're you guys talking about?" I snuck one look at my brother and instantly knew he was simply itching to poke fun at Iris again. Just the way his eyes immediately fell to her after he asked the question. His stare lingered as he watched stare down at her drink, her cheeks tinted red.
"Well, I was wondering how you managed to get here with a muggle alongside you on your journey. Don't you think she slows you down?" His eyes flitted to Iris who had now resorted to glaring at me instead of Draco. I nudged Draco in the side as he whipped his head at me in question. Was this man seriously that confused?
"Terr, please tell your boyfriend I'm on the school track team and that I haven't lost a single race." As if that statement was gonna do her any good.
Draco simply stared at her in mild confusion as the rest of the table cracked up in laughter. I watched Iris visibly deflate while I flashed my sorry eyes at her. I elbowed Draco again who widened his eyes at me.
"Man, you always manage to make yourself look ridiculous every single time, Britton. I don't even have to do anything."
Iris snatched some rice from her plate and flicked some at my brother, catching him by surprise. He took that as his cue to scoop some rice from himself and sprinkle them in her hand. I almost gaped at the fact that he hadn't launched a handful in response.
