Letters

Persephone was locked in her room for hours. She cried her frustrations and her brother who's deeply anxious about her situation was forbidden from approaching that room.

"Lena, it is not a matter to be worried about!" Michaelli stopped her from putting bandages on his head.

"It's just a scratch, PerSis will never hurt me," he sternly mumbled while looking down at his hands. They are scratched too but it doesn't hurt that much.

"But you just got hurt, young master." Lena sighed before taking the bandages away.

"You are in no position to speak to me like that!" he stood.

"You're not my mother but a mere maid," he whispered and creased his eyebrows.

Lena smiled sadly. Both of them knew that she heard it. She is his personal maid, she has watched over him for as long as she began working at the Ignis manor.

"Forgive my impudence, young master."

"You may leave," Michaelli's ordered.

He watched as she left the room. Thinking about how his sister behaved is worrisome to the point that it's annoying.

He palmed his head and fetched the letter on his table.

The sealing wax had no insignia. It's of plain hue, almost too plain to be not suspicious about.

"Fool," he said. He tore it apart and grabbed his pen, ink, and paper.

After he finished writing, he opened his balcony and threw his letter out.

"I hope you're alright, PerSis..." he trailed his finger on his lips, "...my dearest sister."

Persephone is pacing back and forth inside her room. She is thinking about the duke, his majesty, and the wedding. It was supposed to be a happy ending so why did Persephone do this?

She's chewing her lips while thinking of an immediate solution to this dilemma. Persephone wishes that they will notice that the Lunaine now is an imposter, that it's not her.

When she was in her own body, people always believed in her so she doesn't understand why they don't even though she is telling the truth.

"What must I do? I, I can't do this alone..." anxiety is about to attack her again when she heard knocks on the door.

"Young lady, this is Steen. May I come in?" a baritone voice... Persephone's crimson eyes grew wide. She just thought of a good plan.

She simply needs to come in through an open door and announce the whole truth!

"Young lady?" he asked again. Persephone cleared her throat before speaking.

"Come in..." what's his name again? "Steve...?"

The door burst open and a man in his sixties appeared. His uniform looks more formal than other male servants that she had seen within the duke manor a while ago.

"My apologies for bothering your rest when I am fully aware of your situation," he glanced at the newly changed bandages on her arms before lowering his head.

"His excellency has requested your audience, Milady." Her expression lit up. This is her chance to get permission to visit the castle!

"Okay! Guide me, Steve!" she smiled brightly at him which made the old man make an unreadable expression on his face... almost as if he is scared.

While they are on their way to the duke's office, Duke Perseus is quite skeptical about what his daughter declared.

"Her manner of speech, her posture and facial expressions..." None of it matches the usual daughter that he knows.
