Chapter 14

-Kazutora Hanemiya POV-

We were at my place, since we didn't know if Kisaki knew Ena was alive or not.
We couldn't return to Chifuyu's place...
Ena had cried herself to sleep.

I carried her to my bed and put a blanket over her.
She was all alone now... her grandmother had died a few years ago, so Chifuyu was the only one she had left...
Her phone went off and I frowned.

"Mom?" I said out loud. "But, she doesn't have a mother"
I picked up the call.
"Hello?" I said.

"Kazutora" I knew the voice.
"Mikey?" I said.
"Where's Ena-chan?" he asked.

"She's safe, for now" I said. "Is it important? She finally fell asleep..."
"What happened?" he asked.
"Kisaki... he shot Chifuyu in the head" I said. "He's gone, Mikey"

He was silent, but he hadn't hung up yet.
"I can't keep her safe" I said. "I don't know if Kisaki knows we faked her death. But, I can't keep her safe here. If you still love her, help her"
"Text me the address, I'm coming to get her" he said and hang up...

Not long after I sent the text, someone knocked on my door.
I opened it, and saw Mikey.
"Where is she?" he asked and I guided him to my room.

He kneeled beside her and put some hair away behind her ear.
He still looked at her like she was the most precious thing to him.
He smiled.

"Her hair's longer" he said. "It's cute"
"She cried herself to sleep" I said.
"Thank you" he said and carried her in his arms. "Thank you, Kazutora. For protecting her"

"Take good care of her, Mikey" I said. "If I find out you did anything to her, I'll kill you myself"
"Noted" he said and left my house.

-Kiyama Ena POV-

I woke up to someone stroking my hair... it felt familiar...
"What time is it, Chifuyu?" I said.
No answer came, and then I remembered...

"Right... he's gone" I whispered and dried my tear, I sat up and saw familiar eyes. "Mikey"
"Ena-chan..." he said and I slapped him in the face.
"Where the hell have you been?!" I yelled.

"Sorry" he said and I hit him over and over again.
"Damn it!" I shouted. "He's gone... my brother... he's really gone... and where were you?! Chifuyu is dead, Mikey!"

"I know" he said and took me in his arms. "I'm sorry, Ena-chan"
I began to cry all over again...
I stopped struggling and surrendered myself into Mikey's arms...

Past, 12 years ago

-Hanagaki Takemichi POV-

After I told Chifuyu everything, he was calm.
"And that's everything I've done" I said.
"I'm gonna get killed by Kisaki?" he asked. "So I'm... gonna die..."

"... Just kidding" I said. "I was just joking around"
"Somehow, I always knew" he said, surprising me. "Thinking about it, there's a lot that's off about you. Also there have been times when you've looked different. Before the fight with Valhalla, you told Baji-san: 'Please don't die'. I wasn't standing close enough, so I didn't hear what you were talking about in detail. But I definitely heard that. You knew Baji-san was gonna die. And you warned me about Kazutora, that he was going to kill my sister. That's why you were so desperate"

"Yeah" I said. "I knew, but I couldn't stop it. Even though I tried to save him..."
"You're pretty incredible" he said. "You've been fighting all alone, right? With nobody praising you or anything. Be proud of yourself, Takemitchy. The results don't matter. Nobody's watching you, but you stood and fought without running. You saved my sister. I respect you, dude"
