-Tyler (before school started)-

The only three things on my mind when I woke up was its game day, that mystery girl, and why were my parents outside last night? The smell of bacon, eggs, and toast wafted my smell and drew me in, like invisible hands to the kitchen to my mothers wonderful cooking. She placed a warm plate of bacon, eggs, and toast in front of me, smiled, and then walk away to the phone. I watched as she dialed the phone and brought it up to her ear on this end she waited awhile before saying "good morning dear" in a cheery voice. My mom slightly laughed but never fully "dear, how are you getting to school?"

Okay that rules out my mom talking to anyone her age "well I could always get-" she suddenly got stopped by the person on the other end of the phone. My mom nodded her head and frowned as she hung up "who was that mom?" I asked her and she looked at me unsure of how to answer my question. "A friend of mine" she finally answered, but looked down at the counter and whispered something that I couldn't hear. I finished my breakfast, got up, grabbed my keys, and headed for my truck.

It was a 10 minute drive to school, but the weather forecast for tonight's game is a rain storm. I smiled at this. I pulled into the school, parked, and waited for my boys. It wasn't too long before I was joined by Parker, Clayton, Nicklaus, Van, Ben, and Sammy. These were my guys who were there for me, not just for football.

"Guys did you hear?" I asked them as we began walking. "Hear what?" Parker asked me in a 'duh' tune I smiled at the boys and said "we got a rainstorm tonight" that got them hollering. They had stopped hollering once we entered the school, but once we passed the office I felt someone's heavy gaze on me, but I didn't turn to look.

The boys and I made our way to first period, but once we were in our seats Nicklaus and Parker turned to the rest of us and asked "did you guys get a chance to see the new girl this morning?" The boys nodded their heads yes like the horny dogs they are, but I just "no" they all turned to me and Ben pulled out his phone. "Great Ben you took a picture of her?" Van asked him while he shyly nodded his head "she's hot" he whispered and Van smacked him upside the head. "Just show me the picture" I said impatiently and Ben handed me his phone.

It's her. I handed Ben back his phone after I pulled a jerkish move, I deleted the picture. I don't know what it was that willed me to that, it was almost as if I didn't want Ben to have a picture of her. "Why did you do that man?" Ben asked me "sorry dude must have deleted when I was giving back to you" I apologized but I felt no sympathy.

He kinda glared at me, but we all faced the front once the teacher walked in and began class.

*3rd bell*

I walked into the office and saw the new girl sitting in one of the seats with her head down so I said "may I help you?" I felt kinda bad cause she jumped from my sudden response. She lifted her head and looked at me all stiff before shaking her head 'no'. "What's your name?" She shifted through her bag until she pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me.

It was her schedule, but it was unusual which it only held her first name, her locker number and combo, and her bells nothing else which are the same as mine, hmm. "Veronica, hmm, I had a friend named Veronica she had moved away to England, I think, she had lost both of her parents and her three older brothers, she stopped talking too, I miss her". After I had finished speaking she had just broken down crying, she must have seen the look on my face because the next thing I know she pulls out a piece of paper and writes down 'pleaѕe eхcυѕe мe' before running off. I sat down thinking about how to apologize when she came back but it's harder than it should be. I thought back to when she bursted out crying, I just told a new girl that a best friend of mines parents died and how did I expect her not to cry?
