5~Don't piss off a warrior

Earlier today I had some pack business to take care of, such as an oath for my loyalty to the pack and as the strongest and head warrior to protect the pack. I then went to the Morris residence. I tried my best to make it to the door before being detected but obviously that still doesn't work around here. Mrs. Morris had seen me and tackled me into a hug, but all to quickly she pulled away, looked at me, and frowned. "Don't get me wrong Veronica, but shouldn't you be at school?"

I rolled my eyes at her but whispered "hello, how are you today? I'm fine thank you for asking. Your welcome." I said in my very low, raspy voice sarcastically. I breathed a sigh and said "I'm here because we need to talk..." I paused a moment, checked my surroundings and continued "privately" I looked her in the eyes and she understood what I meant.

We walked into the kitchen and I began to talk again. "I know your still curious as to why all of a sudden I just move back here, well I'm ready to tell you" I looked down at my hands and continued. "I was coming back from the forests one day back in England and I walked into a silent house. I could smell something foul, like something dead, and I didn't know what it was until I walked into the living room. My grandparents were laid on the ground surrounded by pools of blood, my grandfather had his head chopped off, but my grandmother had a silver bullet in her left leg and another one in her chest."

I let out a shaky breath but continued. "I could tell she had suffered slowly but as I went to move forward I slipped and fell into the blood pool. I did the only thing I could think of, I got up and ran out of the house. I didn't realize that the hunters were still around, silently watching. It was horrible cause they had surrounded me cutting me with silver knives, poking at me, taunting."

"They told me I was a monster, I had my grandparents blood on me. They told me I was the reason they're dead." Slowly the tears came but no matter how hard I tried to hold them back I couldn't. "Veronica I'm so sorry that happened to you" Mrs. Morris said and Mr. Morris walked in right as I started crying "what happened?" He asked and his wife lead him out of the room to talk to him.

When they came back Nell mind linked me 'hey where are you?' I quickly replied 'at Tyler's house, why?' There was a dramatic pause 'cause I'm picking you up to get ready for the game tonight' I was very quick to reply 'no' she seemed taken aback but pushed further 'and why not?' I could hear the tone in her voice 'please don't get angry with me but I need to do things my way tonight.' Finality was in my voice 'nope I'm still coming to get you and we will go to the game' that was the last she said before stopping the mind link.

I was irritated by the time I came back into focus of what was going on around me "dear is there something wrong?" Mrs. Morris asked and I shook my head "Nell is coming to get me so we can go to the game" I finally said. A look of understanding crossed both of their features as they nodded their heads. A sudden knock on the door made me jump. "I'll get it" I finally said breaking the silence, but once I opened the door I instantly regretted it.

Nell grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door "lets go" her voice was low and was slightly filled with anger, but why? "Nell?" I tried to get her attention but she ignored me I waved goodbye to Tyler's parents and they looked at me apologetically. She shoved me into the passenger seat and slammed the door. Next thing I know is we are speeding towards the pack house.

She pulled me out of the car and into the pack house up to her room. I was placed in a chair and she told me "don't move" before disappearing into her bathroom "Nell?" I asked her once she got back "what?" She snapped and her eyes widened realizing what she did "I'm so sorry Ver." She said using my old nickname and I slowly nodded before I went silent and let her do her work.
