Elena has been fake dating Damon because she fell in love with Stefan and she felt bad to just break up with him instantly when he got back his humanity back on. So it's night time once again and Damon comes into her room to say goodnight to her but it just turns into another direction."hey" Damon says."hey" Elena says."goodnight" Damon says."goodnight" Elena says as Damon was about to walk away Elena stops him."Wait, I have to tell you something important" Elena says as she signals him to sit on the edge of the bed next to her and he goes. "What is it?" Damon says."well we have been dating for awhile now" Elena says."right" Damon says." And we've had our moments together like the secret amusement park and the prom escort" Elena says."yeah.." Damon says."and I don't think it's going to work out between us, your a vampire and I'm a human and I don't want to be turned which means I'm going to die and your still going to be alive mourning over the pain of me dying and I don't want you to ever feel pain like that" Elena says." Wow, Elena," Damon says speechless. "What did I ever do wrong? I gave you everything" Damon says. "I know you did and you didn't do anything wrong. It's not you, it's me" Elena says."let me guess it was Stefan wasn't it? It's always going to be Stefan isn't it?" Damon says."maybe if we had met first" Elena says."yeah maybe" Damon says knowing that Elena doesn't know that she really met him first not Stefan.
