Roses are Red
Violets are blue
This is what all poems say
But I am here to tell you
That it doesn't stay that way
Nothing is eternal
Beauty does not last
And all good things must fade to nothing
Whether it be slow or fast
Flowers wilt and wither
Their petals die, their scent decays
All good things must fall to ashes
Nothing wonderful ever stays
I thought you would stay with me
"I'll be here eternally,"
That's the promise you made
The vow you made meant nothing
You packed your things and flew away
You left me broken hearted
I gave you my love
And still you departed
So violets may be blue
And roses may be red
But does it really matter?
Soon, they will be dead.
A kiss can last a second
A hug lasts a short time
The only thing eternal
Is the meaning of this rhyme

PoetryMany of these are poems I wrote a long time ago, but I may occasionally add new ones on occasion. Still, I am curious to hear what people think of the ramblings of my teenage self.
